I feel like it is a gift from God that I can get a normal major even though I was just messing around in the preparatory course. I came to the School of Tourism with full expectations. Like the freshmen, I was more familiar with some things in the school than they were, but I didn’t know much about the School of Tourism. In the new semester, the Student Union, Youth League, major clubs and associations in the academic year have welcomed their annual recruitment. Like them, I was full of yearning for the student union, and I went to interview with the branch student union together with my classmates. Time flies, and the year is coming to an end. From the first round of interviews for new recruits, to the second round of interviews, as well as intern members, to full members, and finally the cadre interview. It's a pity that I failed in the final interview with the minister, but I feel that I didn't lose to anyone. What I lost was just my own character and the rules of the game.
To be honest, I have really not learned anything in the true sense in the past year in the student union. If I really learned something, I think it is probably due to intrigues and intrigues! The routines are not the deepest, only deeper. There are so many bureaucratic problems and personal dictatorship in such a small platform, and class conflicts are quite serious. Overemphasis on the so-called etiquette and politeness issues. What I want to say here is that you are a senior, the chairman and the minister are great, so you think that you are superior and everyone must be respectful to you. No one is born for the first time. Etiquette and politeness are two aspects of the problem. It is a process of mutual respect. When you emphasize that others are rude, do you know that you are good enough to criticize others? My personal opinion is that if you can't do something yourself, why bother forcing others to do it? It's such a simple principle, don't do to others what you don't want others to do to you.
The following are some suggestions I made to the branch student union. At the same time, as an 18th student union, although I can no longer stay in the student union to do things, I have no regrets. At least I have been here. However, I would like to thank the student union for the growth it has brought me. At the same time, I also hope that our student union will get better and better, so as not to leave a bad reputation for others.
1. Although we are a tourism college and many majors have learned etiquette, in my opinion, innate personality cannot be changed through a semester course. Some people are born polite, and although you think this is rude to others, you have to learn to put yourself in someone else's shoes. Confucius once said this famous saying: If people don't respect me, it's because I have no talent. If I don't respect others, it's because I have no virtue. If you don't tolerate me, it's because I'm incompetent. If I don't tolerate others, it's because I'm immeasurable. If people don't help me, it's because I'm incompetent. If I don't help others, it's because I'm unkind. If you don't treat others with the same attitude as others, you will give more and lose less. If you don't care about your own faults, you will be more magnanimous and less narrow-minded. If you don't treat others the same as others, you will be more peaceful and less entangled! So there is no need to be deliberate. Don’t worry about this. I remember that the current student union cadres of the 17th class last semester said that we, the 18th class, were rude. Have you ever thought about what the 16th class thought of you. Therefore, as a human being, you must learn to put yourself in someone else's shoes, empathize with others, and learn to be tolerant.
2. Student union cadres are arbitrary and arbitrary. Let’s take some cases to illustrate. You show him some plans, but he doesn't even read them before rejecting them and asking you to redo them. Moreover, our minister and others in the presidium think that the plan is okay. Even if what I did was really bad, didn't you consider the issue of time? And when I went to school, I made it clear that my focus should still be on study. If you just say redo it at first glance, do it again. Have you ever thought about my feelings and other people's thoughts. The student union is a collective, not a student union of one individual. If you are so good, why don't you do everything yourself?
What I want to say here is that as a leader, you should be serious when you should be serious and learn to relax when you should be relaxed; you must be able to tolerate more than others can tolerate and be able to accept different opinions; you must learn to use people wisely and not They only know how to conquer the country but not manage it; they must endure hardship before enjoying it, take the lead in whatever they do, and take the lead; the most important thing is that ability comes second, and you must have a strong sense of responsibility; the last point is emphasized Let’s talk about character issues. You must convince people with your virtues and don’t oppress people with great power or bully people with great power. You must look at things objectively and comprehensively, and don’t deny a person because of one thing or two.
3. The Student Union is divided into three main bodies and eight departments. Presidium, cadre level, officers; eight departments: office, learning department, publicity department, organization department, literature and art department, sports department, practical external relations department, and life rights and interests department. Although the division of labor between departments is clear, as a whole, sometimes we still need everyone to work together to complete some things. Don't think that this matter is not something we are not responsible for and has nothing to do with me. Various departments should strengthen interconnection, enhance friendship, reduce friction and improve work efficiency. Members of the presidium must also integrate themselves. Chairman Mao once said, “Come from the masses and return to the masses.” Only by having more contact with people below can we find our own problems. Does it make sense to hold ministerial meetings every time? Are their reports comprehensive? From now on, I propose to notify the monitors of each class of freshmen and sophomores to come and participate in our monthly regular meetings and summary meetings. These are grassroots representatives. Although sometimes we are members of the student union, we may not be able to do much for the students in the branch.
4. At this point, let’s talk about some suggestions and opinions on the selection of new members and the interview of new cadres. Sometimes, to be honest, student union work is too formal and has no real meaning in solving problems. During the interview for new members, I hope that the branch leaders can take time to come and consider it carefully. After all, they are choosing people who will do things for you. They must have attitude and ability, and people who really love to do things. And it emphasizes that it must be objective, fair, open and fair. Then when it comes to cadre selection, I know you will consider many aspects, including whether the seats in each major and class are balanced. We must also consider his personal abilities and whether he has a correct attitude and a sense of responsibility, etc. Even so, there is a great deal of objectivity involved. I hope you will not bring your personal grievances into work, and keep public and private affairs separate. Don't deny a person because of a certain shortcoming, and don't affirm a person because of a strong point. What we really need is all-round talents with comprehensive development! Furthermore, I really hope that the branch leaders can spend more time inside and make an overall rectification plan for the student union. One is to meet the urgent need for evaluation, and the other is to pave the way for each subsequent session and lay the foundation for our future. The work of teachers and students in the branch can bring many satisfactory services. Here I suggest that our student union add a supervision department, which is directly responsible to the teachers and the presidium. At the same time, the presidium and the supervision department can also supervise and restrict each other. Conduct spot checks on the work of each department from time to time, and supervise whether the regular work of each department is in place on time.
5. The last point is also the most important point. I personally think that personal gains and losses, honor and disgrace are small, but the interests of the entire collective are the big deal. Many officers, as well as the ministers themselves, are dissatisfied with the work of certain cadres, and each of you has a clear view of the internal problems, but no one dares to stand up and speak out. If you think this will affect the image of the branch, then there is nothing I can do about it. Image and reputation are all clouds. As a collective, we are here to provide more services to more teachers and students. Everyone sees problems, but they don’t dare to face them and solve them. When I went to interview for the position of minister that day, I really wanted to say something: If telling the truth means being eliminated, I still have to insist on telling the truth. To be honest, what I hate the most in my life are those who say those unconscionable and hypocritical words.
Although sometimes the situation calls for it, you have to be as factual as possible! So I suggest that the student union should set a rule that everyone dares to speak, tell the truth, and do practical things! If a team doesn't even have the courage to accept its own shortcomings, what hope do you think this team has? No one said how to discover the seriousness of the problem, and no one tried to solve the problem and how to do it better and better! Don't expect me to finish my semester and achieve the goal I want. We have to really do some facts and make some achievements for everyone, comrades of the student union!
Finally, I would like to send a message to the students who are still working hard in the student union. The revolution has not yet succeeded, and comrades still need to work hard!
