Daze Tianxiang Peony Garden in August

"A night of fresh frost touches the tiles lightly, and the newly broken plantains fall over the lotus.

Only the winter-resistant chrysanthemum, the golden millet is more clear at dawn."

This is Bai Juyi's poem "Ying Chrysanthemum", which is now used to describe the current landscape of "Daze Tianxiang Peony Garden" in Xishunhe Town beside Hongze Lake. Although it is a bit trivial, it is somewhat similar.

It is now early August, and the Daze Tianxiang Peony Garden, where hundreds of species of peonies once flourished, is no longer as grand as it was back then.

The peonies have faded, but the zinnias along the path here are in full bloom, and they are so charming.

In the pond in the peony garden, lotus flowers are vying to bloom on one side. They are white and red, and they are really bright. On one side, the lotus pods withered, slightly ruining the scenery.

There is also a rare cattail stick used in childhood to smoke out mosquitoes, which stirs up the hidden childishness of the solo traveler. I really want to reach out and fold one...

There are not only flowers in the peony garden, but also bamboos.

Waterside bamboos like those from southern Jiangsu also grow here, and they are very green and fresh after the rain.

At the north end of the peony garden, the small nandina is blooming and bearing fruit, seemingly competing with the neighboring thunder bamboo.

There are also fruit trees in this garden.

There is a classmate who is in charge here and is willing to invite everyone to eat crayfish and hairy crabs for free. Why is he not willing to invite us to pick these fruits?

In particular, I saw a pear tree with a green pear growing on the tip of the branch, just like that old classmate, who seemed to be making this small town happy...

I took advantage of the garden maintenance workers to come in and clean up the garden, and there were no tourists. I took the opportunity to visit the garden again.

Although the beautiful and fragrant peonies were missing, we did see another scene, which was another kind of enjoyment.

After leaving the garden, it’s better to wait for the peonies to bloom next year.
