Tell me about the discovery of the tomb.

Recently, when the stadium was rebuilt in Daju Middle School in Lijiang, Yunnan, an ancient tomb group was accidentally discovered. After field investigation and exploration by the archaeological department, there are 59 tombs that have been cleared and are being cleared. According to preliminary judgment, there are four types of tombs in the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, namely rectangular, circular and irregular vertical pits and sarcophagus tombs. The funerary objects include clay pots, seashells and small bronzes.

Burials like this are diverse in types and complicated in burial styles, which are actually rare in the archaeological history of Yunnan. There are various types of tombs discovered this time, including square pit tomb, round pit tomb, vertical pit tomb, sarcophagus tomb and urn coffin burial. The burial style is also more complicated, with the characteristics of upturned limbs, straight limbs, sideways bending limbs and joint burial of husband and wife.

Because this tomb group is located in the sand, the soil layer has good drainage performance, so the human bones in the coffin are still relatively well preserved. Moreover, the tombs excavated this time are closely arranged, and many tombs are stacked, which are piled up by breaking piles. The deepest tomb is the oldest. Surprisingly, there are many human bones in many sarcophagus, including a four-story tomb in which 19 human bones were cleaned. However, whether they were martyrdom or second burial and their relationship with the tomb owner are still being further confirmed.

According to the archaeologists at the scene, there are funerary objects on each floor of the tomb, many of which are single-ear pottery pots, double-ear pottery pots, stone knives, stone axes and other utensils for production and life, as well as a few decorative beads, bracelets, shellfish, etc., but most of them appear in children's sarcophagus. This is of great value to explore the living habits and burial customs of the ancients.

After the excavation is completed, the antiquities and human bones will be brought to the institute for identification and testing as soon as possible, which will minimize the damage caused by oxidation after the excavation of antiquities and is also conducive to the orderly arrangement of subsequent data. At present, archaeological excavations are still in progress in an orderly manner.
