Kindness makes you brave —— On Laozi's "Three Treasures"

Laozi wrote in the Tao Te Ching: "I have three treasures, which I hold and protect: kindness, frugality and not being the first in the world."

Lao Tzu said that I have three magic weapons, one is kindness, the other is frugality, and the third is that I dare not lead the world.

Why are they my three magic weapons?

Because, "kindness can be brave; Thrift, so it can be wide; I dare not be the best in the world, so I can be prosperous. " With this kindness, you can be brave. With thrift, you can be generous; I dare not stay ahead of the rest of the world, so I can be the head of everything.

Let's talk about the first magic weapon, kindness.

Kindness means loving and cherishing. Great kindness makes you brave. Because of kindness, you have to protect it, so you have courage. Confucius said that the brave are not afraid.

Many famous classic sentences in Tao Te Ching also contain the meaning and magic of "goodness". For example, "the weak use Tao", "the world is the softest, galloping the strongest", "keeping soft is the strongest", "being quiet in the world is the first" and "being quiet in the world is the first".

Another word for "kindness" is "inaction" "Kindness" is the first principle of "three treasures". "Kindness, to win by war, to consolidate the rules. God will save it and defend it with kindness. " Attacking with "goodness" can win, and retreating can be strong. If God wants to save a person, use "kindness" to defend him.

We often say that gentleness is like water, softness is strong, weakness is strong, and it is also a manifestation and wonderful use of kindness.

Mencius said that everyone has a heart of right and wrong, comity and compassion. I can't bear to see him die when I see him alive. Therefore, the benevolent is invincible, and nothing can defeat the true benevolent.

In times of crisis, mothers will give up their lives to protect their babies. All this stems from the gentle and kind instinct, so kindness can make them brave.

Besides, the second magic weapon is thrift.

Thrift, frugality is frugality. One is frugality, the other is restraint. "It is impossible to be stingy when dealing with personnel." "Husband is stingy, that is, taking early clothes." Taking early clothes means preparing early and cherishing the spirit. In other words, people should not only save manpower and material resources, but also gather their spirit and energy to wait for the opportunity.

I think of the old people of my father's generation, who cherish things very much. The mobile phone is almost out of use, and the shell looks new. I hate to throw away a newspaper, saying it is useful. I don't quite understand. I thought it was not even environmental protection. The energy is too small. But in fact, many a mickle makes a mickle. One person affects ten people, and ten personal influence has one hundred people, so fewer trees are cut down and the earth turns green. The world will change.

At the same time, don't waste your physical strength and energy in useless places and treat others with a simple attitude. Complexity itself is a very meaningless waste. "Rare goods are a burden", and less is enough.

Finally, the third magic weapon is "dare not be the first in the world"

"Dare not be the first in the world" is a word, modest. Modesty. It can be an indisputable humility, or it can be shrinking and staying. "Jianghai is the king of all valleys, so it is better to be inferior to them" and "all big countries are polluted". The word "inferior" here means modesty and indisputable. "Dare not be the first in the world, you can be a leader" and "become a leader", that is, become the head, leader and king of all things.

"Benevolence", "frugality" and "not daring to be the first in the world" are the "three treasures", which are Laozi's summary of the social practice of Tao and virtue.
