In the summer vacation, on August 10, my mother and my classmates traveled to Fenghuang Ancient City.

At six o'clock in the afternoon, we got on the sleeping car and started our journey. The car drove for a long time and suddenly stopped. The guide dropped us off for dinner. We all got off the bus. We ate what we brought. I fell asleep after getting on the bus.

Looking out of the window, the rice fields in the distance are beautiful. There are flowers, horses, cattle and sheep, and some grandparents are farming. Birds are still flying in the sky.

We walked to Miao village. After getting off, we went to visit Miao village. It's beautiful, with high mountains, clear water and many old houses. People there talk funny, too. The old man says cake and the woman says light cannon. We turned around and went back to eat. After dinner, we will go to the ancient city of Fenghuang.

We took a bus for a while and soon arrived at the ancient city of Fenghuang. Found a place to live. We took a bath in the hotel and watched TV. It was dark and I was a little hungry, so we went to eat. On the way to dinner, we walked and watched the scenery. The scenery is beautiful, with bridges, water and boats. Someone is swimming in the water. On a bridge, we met many beautiful sisters who took pictures. My aunt said we should take some photos, too. We also wore minority clothes and took many photos. I think the photos are very nice and happy.

It's getting late, so we go to eat. We searched for a long time and finally found a restaurant. We ate some rice. Go back at night, the lights and bridges on the road are beautiful. After watching the night scene, we went back to the hotel to have a rest.

The next morning, after dinner, we went down to see the ancient town under the guidance of the guide. We saw a long river with high diaojiao buildings on both sides. The tour guide introduced us to this river called Tuojiang. The water is clear and the boat floats on it. The guide also took us by boat. When we first sat on the boat, I was very nervous. My heart relaxed when the ship slowly left. The boating uncle sang excitedly. Then many people sang, which was very lively. The ship docked, the tour guide was there, and then we went to eat together. The hotel is really big, crowded and lively. After lunch, my mother and aunt took my little brother and me back to the hotel. We walked back along a stone road. There are many people. This summer vacation, my father and I went to visit the mysterious and beautiful Fenghuang ancient city in western Hunan. The weather was fine in those days, and my mood was as happy as that weather. I heard from my father that there are ancient and unique diaojiao buildings, clear Tuojiang River, quaint and mysterious Miao village, beautiful night view of Tuojiang River … I really want to go soon!

When I came to the ancient city of Fenghuang, I found that the mountains there were not high, but the beautiful and elegant Tuojiang River was not deep, like a beautiful landscape painting rendered in light ink. The clear Tuojiang River passes through the city, and there are many ancient diaojiao buildings along the river, which has become the most unique scenery of Phoenix. Come to the river, follow the path paved with bluestone, reach the river, hold a handful of river water, and a cool feeling will flood all over your body. The river here is clear and green, and the bottom of the Tuojiang River is covered with green aquatic plants. Seen from a distance, the Tuojiang River seems to be a green and flawless jade.

My father and I got on the local ancient wooden boat and went downstream. The water in Tuojiang River is crystal clear, and the river flows slowly along the ancient city wall. The river reflects the ancient diaojiao building on the water, just like a beautiful oil painting. The river is wide, but it is shallow. The water is neither urgent nor slow, and the water is full of slender aquatic plants. In the evening, we came to the beautiful ancient city of Phoenix.

Fenghuang ancient city is an ancient city built near the water. The houses there are not high-rise buildings in the city, but low-rise buildings with some classical flavor. The most distinctive feature is the diaojiao building. One end of the diaojiao building is built on the shore, but the other end is suspended on the water, supported by countless pieces of wood below. The wood stuck in the water looks so fragile that people can't help but be afraid. The river that looks wide and flat is Tuojiang River. Occasionally there will be ripples on the light green water, which will make people feel a long-lost kindness. Walking along the stone road by the river, an ancient waterwheel appeared in front of you, much like the Ferris wheel in the children's paradise! It turns round and round, and the crystal water is constantly picked up and thrown into the air, and the water drops on the water surface, stirring up tiny water vortices, which is pleasing to the eye.

There are many beautiful girls in the street, wearing bright national costumes, walking in front of us talking and laughing, adding many beautiful colors to the evening of the ancient city. It was getting dark, and the night enveloped the ancient city. Thankfully, even at night, the ancient city of Fenghuang is still so charming. Red lanterns are hung on the roof, neon lights keep flashing, and the beautiful banks of the Tuojiang River are brightly lit. On this colorful night, we also put on Miao costumes and took photos and souvenirs.

The next day, we came to the former residence of Mr. Shen Congwen, the author of the famous writer Border Town. His home is really big, and the house is carved and painted, antique. The eaves are slightly upturned, and red lanterns are hung under the porch. When I entered the room, a smell of wood came to my face, and some photos and antiques were displayed inside. Looking around, the floor is covered with wooden strips and the beams are supported by columns. Exquisite patterns are carved on doors, windows and even handrails in corridors, which makes people marvel at the exquisite workmanship.

After visiting several former residences of celebrities, our group rushed to the river and started boating on the Tuojiang River. The cruise ship swayed from side to side with the ups and downs of the waves. I put my hand in the cold river, closed my eyes and felt the smoothness and comfort of the water sliding through my fingers.
