Has the film and television work "Big Fish and Begonia" been overly disparaged?

I think "Big Fish and Begonia" has indeed been somewhat overrated. After watching the movie, I felt very good because I am a relatively idealistic person. Whether it's Zhihu or Douban, some people always mention the plot of Chun willing to risk everything, but I think Chun doesn't care whether Kun will bring disaster to the village, and I also accept the plot of Chun desperate to keep his promise. This is my personal take on the plot.

Everyone has their own preference on whether to be too derogatory or not. Reviews of the movie are certainly diverse. Don't assume that just seeing and your own opinion is reasonable and objective. If it is inconsistent, it is considered too extreme. There are many people who support or disparage Big Fish. Many major students around me also think Big Fish is very good. For such a famous work, there will be a lot of criticism. More importantly, Big Fish boasted in the early days that it was China’s Ghibli Pixar.

However, considering this film as a well-made purely commercial film is very successful. Domestic two-dimensional animation can achieve such box office results, but especially those like Liang Xuan who are unprofessional and immature and think they are very artistic. But I think the biggest failure of this movie is the poor portrayal of the characters. A bit mysterious. The point of fantasy is that the protagonist is not a living person, the characters are not vivid enough, there is no sense of girlishness, there is no persuasiveness in promoting the plot, there are too many useless shots, the abuse of wide-angle lenses, etc. In addition to boring disputes such as outsourcing and plagiarism, as far as the work itself is concerned, Douban's ratings are also relatively reasonable.
