Yesterday, I was still writing about Xiaobao’s literacy performance, which made me happy, because yesterday morning she was very interested in literacy. However, last night, when I took out the words that she was more familiar with, she couldn’t I was really excited and wanted me to end it early.

Why does this happen? I think it's mainly frustration.

Originally, if she could not read these words when seeing the Chinese characters in front of them, she would be able to read them immediately after looking at the images at the back, which would give her a sense of accomplishment.

After studying for three days, she still couldn’t react when she saw Chinese characters. She was unwilling to look at the images at the end because she felt that she had learned this character several times. God, it's very familiar, but I just can't remember how to read it, so I have doubts about my learning ability. This kind of frustration of doubting my ability makes Xiaobao too lazy to look at the images on the reverse side.

Looks like I have to change my status this morning. How to teach? I decided to look for it in Siwu Kuaidu.

I was impressed by two fun literacy games.

A hide-and-seek game for adults and children. It is suitable for a small number of cards. We hide the word cards first, but we must be careful not to hide them too tightly and make them difficult to find. We must consciously reveal a small corner so that children can find them. You have to recite it later.

This game allows children to try it and adults to look for it. Adults also need to consciously pronounce the words incorrectly to arouse children's interest. There is also a game about blowing the wind. You can learn to read by blowing over the word cards. When I saw this game, I suddenly felt that this game is the most suitable for Xiaobao. I can try it this morning.

This morning’s plan was originally to take Xiaobao to learn literacy for 20 minutes, and stop when the time is up. I hope that by the end of the day, Xiaobao’s interests will be strong.

However, the plan could not keep up with the change. Xiaobao did not want to learn literacy at all in the morning. Instead, he took out the Learning Resources Variety Magic Cube and played games of building blocks and counting numbers.

I bought this mathematics enlightenment teaching aid in October last year. Xiaobao played with it a few times and became disinterested. It has been put away and has not been played for nearly half a year. Yesterday, Xiaobao suddenly proposed to play with this. After playing for more than half an hour, I still refused to stop, and I took the initiative to play again this morning.

Xiaobao is still in middle school, and a lot of her studies can be based on her interests. She is not forced to learn certain knowledge every day, and she often adjusts her study plan.

However, I didn’t want to give up easily on the literacy plan of learning 100 words in a week. After reading the lesson plan for direct word recognition, I learned that a literacy rate of over 85% is considered excellent, and 70% is considered good. Instead of every word having to be read out as I thought before. Those words that cannot be read have actually been stored in the brain, and will be gradually learned through future review and consolidation and picture book reading.

As I write this, I can’t help but lament that I did not have a good enlightenment in Dabao’s kindergarten. I thought that enrolling in a thinking class can enlighten me in mathematics, and enrolling in a pinyin class can lay the foundation for learning Chinese and find a teacher to teach English. That’s how I achieved enlightenment in English.

Now it seems that if you just spend money to let kindergarten children attend tutoring classes, and parents do not follow up to review, consolidate and test the learning effect, what you have learned will be in vain.

I have a deep understanding of this now. Dabao is weak in mathematical calculations, and it is difficult to understand the meaning of word problems. There are still several fixed pinyin errors in Chinese pinyin, and English spelling and grammar are a mess.

So, when my mother told me this morning that a classmate of Xiaobao’s English training class studied painting at a certain place and heard that it was pretty good, she suggested that I transfer Xiaobao from Changning Fine Arts School. Go there and learn to paint.

I waved my hand and said that for kindergarten children, a pair of more than a dozen children at Changning Art School would not be good, so would a one-to-five high-priced small-class painting class be enough? I still need my own serious coaching.

When I go to Changning Fine Arts School to study, I study for one and a half hours a week and travel for an hour, so it takes two and a half hours a week. Yesterday, at home, I taught Xiaobao to draw two simple drawings, mango and cherry, in just 10 minutes.

Through Xiaobao following the simple drawings and calligraphy and painting, I found that her copying ability is still very weak. In addition, she has not developed the habit of first outlining the edges and then painting the middle when painting, so I guided her to observe. Go and color slowly. These teaching methods of teaching students in accordance with their aptitude and slowly guiding them bit by bit cannot be achieved by one-to-many painting classes.

I also expressed my objections. For the art grading examination, you can apply for the highest level 5 for the first time, and you can only apply for level 5 after that. Dabao’s sketching teacher recommends that fourth-grade students take the sketching exam from Level 4. Instead of letting Xiaobao rush for the exam from level 1, it is better to wait until she is in fourth grade and start taking the exam from level 4.

So I decided to finish the painting class in the middle class and stop studying painting outside for two years in the senior class. After I had a solid foundation in Xiaobao’s simple drawings, I would start applying to Changning Fine Arts School again in the second grade.
