How to introduce myrrh!

Myrrh comes from a shrub or tree that secretes aromatic resin and can be used to make perfume and essence. Myrrh mentioned in the Bible refers to one species, but it may also include another species, because they grow in the same area and have similar shapes. These two kinds of trees are native to Arabian Peninsula, Ethiopia and the Somali coast of East Africa, and the resin they produce supplies most of myrrh in the market. Both species are short and lush shrubs or small trees with thick, hard and spiny branches, which grow in rocky areas, especially on limestone mountains. The bark and wood of a tree have a strong fragrance, and the trunk and branches naturally ooze resin. Resin tastes bitter, a little irritating and not delicious at all, but it was once valued by the medical community and used as a hemostatic. If mixed with wine, it can achieve the effect of relieving pain. Therefore, when Jesus was crucified, it was recorded that "the wine mixed with myrrh was given to Jesus, but he did not accept it" (Kyle Gospel 15: 23). In the east, myrrh is regarded as an aromatic substance, spice and medicine. The ancient Egyptians burned myrrh in temples and wrapped their bodies with it. Jews also daubed corpses with myrrh. In the eyes of Hebrews, myrrh is a precious spice.
