Which one is better, Xinxiang or Shangqiu?

I am from Shangqiu and have stayed in Xinxiang for 7 years. I often travel between the two cities. To be honest, Xinxiang is far better than Shangqiu.

First let’s talk about transportation, 1. Railway transportation. What Shangqiu is proud of is that it is located at the crossroad between Beijing-Kowloon and Longhai and is a transportation hub. In fact, why not Xinxiang? It is also a national hub city. The Jiao-Ri-Beijing-Guangzhou Line intersects with Xinxiang. The Jiao-Ri Line is one of the most important arteries of national energy. However, looking around the country, as a transportation hub city, Shangqiu is the slowest developing city!

2. Regardless of expressways, Henan’s expressway mileage has consistently ranked first in the country for many years, and Xinxiang Shangqiu is about the same. 3. Intercity bus transportation. Intercity buses in Xinxiang include Zhengzhou-Xinxiang (Zhengxin Bus), Xinxiang-Luoyang (Xinluo Expressway), Xinxiang-Kaifeng (Xinkai Bus), Xinxiang-Anyang-Hebi (Xin'anhe Bus), Xinxiang-Jiaozuo (Xinjiao Bus) , all buses from Xinxiang to its subordinate counties and cities have been opened. These buses are cheap and have short intervals (the shortest one is an average of 8 minutes and the longest is 20 minutes). The intercity express train between Xinxiang and Zhengzhou is about to be launched. Our Shangqiu is blank in these aspects! ! !

Secondly, let’s talk about urban construction. The planning of Shangqiu is too unreasonable. The main north-south road is Shenhuo Avenue, which is the widest, and the rest of the roads are not good. The city of Xinxiang is a chessboard-shaped transportation, with many main roads in the east, west, south and north, and they are wide. Compared with Xinxiang, the city of Shangqiu looks dirty and messy. In terms of urban construction, Xinxiang is renovating old urban areas while building new districts. There are more and more high-rise buildings and they are diversified. Shangqiu's urban construction seems backward, with almost all high-rise buildings being residential buildings.

Again, let’s talk about business. As for large shopping malls, Xinxiang has Wal-Mart, Carrefour, Dennis, Dashang, Qiansheng, Pandonglai, New Mart, Powerlong City Plaza, 1,000-meter underground Wenzhou Commercial Street, etc. Each shopping mall is huge! This aspect is even far better than Luoyang, and Shangqiu's business is indeed incomparable.

Then, let’s talk about college education. There are four undergraduate colleges in Xinxiang (Henan Normal University, Xinxiang Medical College, Xinxiang College, Henan Institute of Science and Technology), one is upgrading to undergraduate (Henan Mechanical and Electrical College), Henan University second. In terms of quantity and quality, our Shangqiu universities are lagging behind across the board.

Finally, let’s talk about travel. Xinxiang is located at the foothills of Taihang, and most of its scenic spots are landscape-shaped places. Xinxiang has natural advantages in this regard. Shangqiu has a rich history, including the ancient city of Shangqiu and the Mangdangshan Han Tombs (the largest group of stone chamber tombs in China). In this aspect, Shangqiu wins.

Shangqiu is my first hometown, but Xinxiang will be my home for the next few decades. I sincerely wish both cities get better and better.
