What are the requirements for speaking about Buddhism to others?

The first condition is that you must say what you really understand, without any mistakes or ambiguities. You cannot mislead others if you don’t understand it yourself.

Secondly, there needs to be relevant conditions. If the conditions are not met, there is no need to provoke disputes. If there is no need to be sure, there is no need to argue. Otherwise, not only will you easily make mistakes and increase the troubles of greed and anger, but you will also easily cause the other party to lose the opportunity to understand the Dharma due to your recklessness.

Third, be ready to admit your shortcomings at any time. Skillful refutation of heretics does not necessarily require following, but if you are unable to refute, it must be because your basic skills are insufficient, and the fault lies not with others but with yourself. For those who already understand the Dharma, it cannot be called a speech. It can only be an exchange. It cannot be stubborn and needs to be balanced.
