1. History

Now the FIFA World Cup trophy-"World Cup" was made in 1970. At that time, after Brazil won the championship for the third time, it could keep the original "Rimet Cup" forever (the Rimet Cup was stolen at 1983 and has not been found yet). The World Cup was designed by Italian sculptor Silvio gazzaniga. Strictly speaking, it can't be called a trophy. The whole sculpture is made of 18K gold, with a height of 36cm and a weight of 4970g. The base is inlaid with two green malachite rings. In the golden part of the ring, a "hero list" with the space of 17 is designed to engrave the names of the champion teams-this "hero list" can record all the World Cup champions in 2038. So far, seven names have been recorded on the Heroes List, namely Germany (1974 and 1990), Argentina (1978 and 1986), Italy (1982) and Brazil.

3. Ownership

FIFA awarded the "World Cup" to the World Cup champion team, but FIFA still retains the ownership of the "World Cup". Every champion team can keep the "World Cup" until the next World Cup final. All football teams will try their best to win the glory of the gold cup and the status of the king.

4. "Champions Cup"

As a permanent souvenir of the World Cup champion, FIFA specially made a replica of the World Cup with the same design and size. The only difference is that the original "World Cup" is pure gold, while the replica is gold-plated. And this replica is the famous "Champions Cup". This "Champions Cup" will be passed on to the next World Cup champion team, which is also the only "World Cup" to be shown to the public. Usually, the "Champions Cup" is kept at FIFA headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland. 5. Current holder

1July 998 12, the French team won the World Cup in the World Cup final, and the trophy is now kept in the bank safe by the French Football Association. It will be delivered to the Japan-Korea World Cup Organizing Committee when the final draw is made in Korea on June 1. When returning to the World Cup, France will win a "Champions Cup" to permanently commemorate their victory in the 1998 World Cup.
