What kind of experience is it to have a northeast person in the dormitory?

A roommate in Northeast China really took away the accent of the whole dormitory. As a Hebei native, I think Mandarin is very standard. However, when I came home for the first time after going to college, my classmates said that I spoke too northeast, and even my mother said that my speech had changed, but I didn't care, because the northeast people were really nice, fun and enthusiastic, and living with them was really full of fun.
