Another popular word for environmental protection activities is picking up garbage. But sometimes people often like to talk about this activity on the surface, and few people really want to bend down to pick up garbage. Many people think so, including me. Picking up garbage is a shameful thing, even a shameful thing. However, after I took part in the environmental protection activities of picking up garbage, my idea changed completely, perhaps because I grew up, maybe I experienced it personally, or maybe I felt that picking up garbage became a glorious and sacred thing. When many people are watching us pick up garbage, I see their eyes are not contempt and disdain, but admiration and gratitude.

Our group arrived at Sheshan in time on a Friday afternoon, and immediately started this volunteer work after getting off the bus. We each gave out a big garbage bag and then went our separate ways. When we did it, we found a lot of rubbish on the roadside, which made the original beautiful environment lose its style. Everyone was not too dirty, not afraid of being tired, and picked it up without complaint or grievance. Remember when my roommate saw the ice cream cone drop on the floor and the ice cream spilled all over the floor. At first, she frowned and didn't know how to tidy up. But two seconds later, she took out a small plastic bag from her bag, put it on her hand, picked up the ice cream cone, and then wiped it clean by hand bit by bit. The problem was solved so easily. Several of our roommates tried to reach the garbage in the grass, but they couldn't reach it. As a result, she really fell down and laughed when her pants were dirty. Me, carrying a big garbage bag, running around with my roommates and collecting garbage everywhere. Occasionally, I borrow aunt cleaner's broom to help clean. After the completion, some people throw the garbage directly into the trash can, and some people put it directly into the aunt's cleaning car. Everyone is in full swing, and bursts of laughter will break out from time to time. I think laughter after work is the happiest laughter. Looking at the small square that we cleaned up, I have a sense of satisfaction.

We really serve and contribute to society in the form of voluntary labor. This volunteer work left a deep impression and feeling on every student. Through this kind of labor, we help each other, unite as one, and feel the joy of labor. Dedication and love unite everyone, everyone is very happy, and everyone has the harvest of growth! Only when I have done this activity can I feel deeply devoted to my happiness, and that kind of pride will arise. Picking up garbage is small, but it brings us great significance. People don't want to see their homes full of rubbish and filth, so it is particularly important to strengthen environmental awareness. When some passers-by scoffed at us, when some people scoffed at our behavior, we didn't feel artificial, but felt that this kind of volunteer activity was more necessary. If people throw rubbish without restraint and do not pay attention to the purification of the environment, then over time, our home will become shocking. I believe that not everyone will look down on our activities.

The activity of picking up garbage is meaningful and can be exercised in the process. Everyone is very enthusiastic and serious. On the other hand, it also reflects that it is not uncommon for citizens to litter during their play. Our environmental protection activities are also promoting environmental awareness, calling on the society to pay attention to the surrounding environment and strengthen the awareness of civilization. There is environmental protection to be healthy!

In addition, I think that to fundamentally improve the environmental quality, we need to govern according to law, the whole people should participate in the practice of environmental protection movement, and cultivate children's environmental awareness from an early age. But this is a long-term project, and we need all of us to work hard to achieve this goal slowly. We can also learn from some countries that have done well in environmental protection. For example, in Germany, many hotels in Germany posted eye-catching tips: "Dear guests, environmental protection." From this small example, we can see Germany's efforts and achievements in environmental protection. Personally, I think the government can appropriately increase the punishment for environmental damage, but if we want to fundamentally solve the problem, we must raise people's awareness of environmental protection.

We are college students and volunteers, so we have the ability and confidence to infect all citizens and make everyone realize how beautiful it is to care for our home and make the city clean and tidy. Labor can purify the soul, loving labor is a virtue, and longing for labor is a fashion. A good life requires everyone to work together. Environmental protection and labor are inseparable. I think this is our greatest achievement.
