Glass drilling method

1. Confirm the glass: firstly, according to the thickness to be punched indicated on the punching sheet. Size and edge processing requirements determine that glass can be punched, and glass can only be punched after edge processing (including grinding and chamfering).

2. Review the order: determine the glass drill that should be used according to the order requirements and install it on the drill.

3. Punching operation: firstly, lay the glass to be punched flat on the punching table, and mark the exact position to be punched with a carbon pen according to the punching position of the order. The location of the mark must be accurate. After marking, it is best to check with a box ruler before drilling. Before drilling, circle the hole with a bearing ring and add a certain amount of water (water must be added when drilling, so that the glass cloth will burst when drilling, and the glass will expand due to friction when drilling without water). Then slowly align the rotating drill bit with the drawn circle, stick the edge of the drill bit to the mark, first apply force, and then slowly drill down with the force of vertical shaking (shaking is to increase the hole spacing, and the drill bit is easy to exit after drilling through the glass). Grasp the strength according to the thickness of the glass. The thinner the glass, the greater the force. When the glass is about to be drilled through, pay attention to reducing the strength and slowly drill the perforated hole. If the strength is not reduced, the glass will appear because of excessive force.

4. The appearance of drilling and blasting edge: generally, there is no drilling and blasting edge or a small drilling and blasting edge on the lower surface of the drill bit, but it happens on the opposite side, mainly because the glass is drilled quickly without paying attention to the reduction of drilling and blasting force. At the moment of drilling through the glass, the edge burst of the glass hole occurred because the link part did not drill out but the remaining points were squeezed out by a large force.

5. Hole removal: Similarly, draw the correct position first, then drill holes in all corners, generally drilling holes with a diameter of 22mm (or determine the diameter according to the situation), then wipe off the water on the parts, cut them with glass cutter, and then cut them off with a glass cutting saw. When sawing glass, insert the saw obliquely to isolate an empty saw.

6. When punching, the console should pay attention to the flatness of the table to prevent the glass from bursting when punching.
