On this basis, the rich jade emperor ordered the gods to make him suffer several times a year, while the poor made him rich several times to prevent him from being too poor. This matter slowly spread to the people. One family is a traitor and soon came up with a countermeasure. On the New Year's Eve, he ordered his family to close the door and not talk loudly. When Tie Guai Li was begging, his family had already eaten the New Year's Eve dinner. When the door was opened, the table was empty and there was no charity for Tie Guai Li. Tie Guai Li saw that his family was too poor to afford the New Year's Eve dinner, so he left some gold ingots at the door and went away. This family has become rich.

However, the custom of closing the door to eat New Year's Eve has spread to this day.

Old wine has another definition. Some areas in Wenzhou don't eat New Year's Eve wine, but generally speaking, the host arranges banquets for relatives (usually cousins) ten days before the Spring Festival.
