What is waste? For you, what you can't use is waste, what you can use is treasure. But for different people, what you think is waste is treasure to him.

Let me tell you a true story (Jews cleaned up the Statue of Liberty in the United States and made a million dollars). I tell this story mainly to say that "turning waste into treasure will bring us many benefits". There is both money and environment, which can not only bring us benefits, but also save energy and protect the environment. What are the benefits of turning waste into treasure? So why don't we turn waste into treasure?

What I feel deeply is that turning waste into treasure allows everyone to participate in scientific and technological innovations and inventions, so that our school can have more scientific and technological innovations. So that a large number of outstanding inventions emerged in the competition between Yaohai District and Hefei City. Nearly 20 works by students in our school won the first and second prizes in Anhui Province, the first and second prizes in the city and the first and second prizes in Yaohai District respectively. Of course, the grand prize can't be won without the care of leaders, the hard guidance of teachers and the efforts of our children and their parents behind the scenes.

Let me talk about how to turn waste into treasure in invention and creation from the perspective of scientific and technological innovation. The ancients often said that "books are used to hate less", and when I am doing scientific and technological innovation, I often have this feeling of hating less. Why? Many children also told me: I have some ideas, but I can't do them because I have no material. Many students who have participated in scientific and technological inventions must have such a feeling that they can't do it after they think of it, and there is no material! Is that so?

So what should we do? How to turn waste into treasure? First of all, we should pay attention to collection at ordinary times, and it will come in handy when invented. I usually see cellophane, wires, wipers and many other good materials (of course, these are waste products for some people), and I will collect them.

Secondly, the key to turning expenses into treasure is how to change, and how to use those waste products to change? We can't afford to deal with waste by high-tech means, but we can collect some waste from around. Expired newspapers, squashed table tennis, leftover empty bottles, used toothpaste boxes, extra sticks, unwanted fabrics, eggshells, etc. Both of them can provide rich materials for our small inventions.

In the invention again and again, our classmates made many excellent works by using the waste around them. For example, some students made eco-friendly denim shopping bags with worn-out jeans, desk lamps with cans, jacks with expired newspapers, kaleidoscopes with waste paper shells and colored paper, and rainbows with glass prisms. I remember a second-grade student regarded toys as automatic cleaning robots. In the fifth grade, Sijia Liang made a telescopic feather duster with discarded fishing rod and feather duster, and made a light synthesis demonstrator with CD-ROM and discarded computer. In the sixth grade, Zhang made an automatic shutter out of clinker foam, and many students made creative robots out of discarded biscuit boxes. There are countless such inventions. You may be the child who invented these works. In fact, as long as you learn to turn waste into treasure, each of you can become an inventor.
