Is Yunnan suitable for northerners to live in for retirement?

I have settled in Yunnan, so I don’t have any opinions. I live in the direction of Kunming and Banna. I just want to talk about the feelings of northerners living in Yunnan.

First, most areas in Yunnan are suitable for northerners to stay in. Spring, summer and autumn are no problem. What you have to consider is winter, so Zhaotong and Lijiang are a bit colder, and there are fewer people living there. Not much to say.

Second, Kunming is good but not perfect. For northerners, the cold and heat in Kunming is similar to the spring in the north. The cold and heat are unpredictable and changeable. It doesn’t blow when it rains and it turns into winter. When the sun comes out, everything will be fine. Just get used to it slowly. I sum up that Kunming is “not hot.” "No matter how hot the day is, it's not too hot to walk to the shade. In winter, when the temperature is low, it does not last more than one and a half months. The main reason is that it is not cold and damp. It is more comfortable if the sun is good. This is enough. Generally, people in the north cannot bear the cold and damp for a long time.

Thirdly, as far as the place where I live, in terms of climate alone, Pu'er is definitely better than Kunming. It is generally a few degrees higher than Kunming, and the altitude is more than 600 lower. The climate is mild, and the summer is just like May. It’s similar to Sichuan. I sweat a little as I walk fast, but it’s rainy here and rarely gets hot. The place is clean and the people are easy-going. I wonder if housing prices will rise when the railway opens next year. If I talk about a slightly worse feeling, I feel that if water systems such as Ximahe Meizi Lake can pass through the city, the feeling of some Jiangnan water towns will be more perfect. Maybe it will be like that in the future, wait and see.

Fourth, common problems in Yunnan are ultraviolet rays and altitude, which must be paid attention to at all times in daily operations. Altitude is mainly bad for the elderly and cardiovascular disease. It doesn't seem to be a big problem. If you want to take care of your elderly, you should consider it yourself. Not to mention other places, I haven’t stayed there for a long time, but Dali is also pretty good, especially when you get up in the morning and go for a walk along the river, it’s very refreshing.

Anyway, I feel that if northerners have a physical constitution, Yunnan is still okay. I guess there are also very comfortable places in Guizhou and Guangxi in the surrounding areas. I can’t say much without experience.
