Russia, tell me about it

Russia's mineral resources reserves rank among the top in the world. The main coalfield is Kuzbas. Kursk is the largest iron ore area in the world. Oil and natural gas are mainly distributed in Baku and Tyumen. Russian industry is mainly distributed in Europe, with two industrial zones. The industrial zone centered on St. Petersburg has developed petrochemical, shipbuilding, electronics, paper making and aerospace industries. The industrial zone centered on Moscow is the most developed area in Russia, mainly including steel, automobiles, airplanes, rockets and electronics. During and after the Second World War, industrial construction developed eastward, and an Ural industrial zone dominated by steel and machinery was established in the Ural mountainous area. And the Novosibirsk industrial zone, which is dominated by heavy industry and military industry. Geographically speaking, first, there is permafrost in northern Russia, so it is difficult and unsafe to build an industrial zone. Second, southern Russia is rich in mineral resources, and most of Russia's industrial areas are located in the south. Thirdly, because of its status, Russian industrial zones are closer to neighboring countries and more convenient for economic development.
