Analysis of Characters in Folk Stories
On the one hand, it advocates the social concept of "learning to be an official", and reading-being an official is considered as the individual image of a ignorant scholar in Shandong folk stories. In ancient China society, there were always two diametrically opposed attitudes and concepts towards scholars. The orthodox road of struggle, especially in Shandong, the hometown of Confucius and Mencius, always had the traditional concept of respecting knowledge and scholars. On the other hand, however, in the vast number of Shandong folk stories, the role played by literati is quite different from the traditional concept. In many Shandong folk stories, the literati lost their authority as the expressive and intermediary of social authority. Not only do they know nothing about agricultural production, but they are not so proficient in poetry and songs. I often lose in competitions. There are a lot of negative images of literati in Shandong folk stories, which deserve our in-depth discussion. Based on this problem, this paper focuses on the development and evolution of the role of fools in folk literature, the main types of their stories and their role functions in folk stories by using the methods of story type research and character role and function research. It also points out that it is not a separate story type from folk thoughts and some folk jokes, and the image of a fool is in the smart girl story and the three-son-in-law story. The most common phenomenon is to ridicule the pedantry and ignorance of the scholar, which exists as a foil for the clever girl or the clever third son-in-law. The relationship with the traditional agricultural society is achieved through the image of the stupid scholar, which is fundamentally caused by the contradiction between material production and spiritual production; On the other hand, the rigid political system and strict concept of taking scholars in China traditional society also led to the alienation of scholars' personality. Key words: the story type, role, function, cultural psychology and value orientation of the silly scholar are discussed. It is generally acknowledged that most of the folk stories about fools exist in the irony of life. From the role point of view, the silly scholar is not the protagonist of the story, but the purpose of setting difficult problems for the opposing protagonist, so as to show the protagonist's character quality. As for the ridicule of ignorant scholars in folk stories, we realize that on the one hand, it makes them farther and farther away from ordinary people, and the difference between the consciousness of the ruling group and that of ordinary people is the direct reason for the emergence of a large number of ignorant scholars in folk stories.
