Life丨How did I earn my first royalties through my account?

Last November, I saw Teacher Mengwei, a master of handbook online, and I liked her paintings very much. I also liked her to manage her life with her handbook.

I was a stay-at-home mother with my children by my side 24 hours a day. There were happy days, but most of them were chaotic, irritable, and depressed. I feel like life has no outlet and is in chaos.

In December, I signed up for teacher Mengwei’s handbook class and started keeping my handbook while studying.

I picked up books again and read the half-read book I bought a year ago; I picked up a paintbrush and tried to draw simple figures; I started typing on the keyboard to share my experience and daily routine of writing journals. Life has regained its order and hope.

Then I joined the simple drawing group created by Teacher Mengwei. Every time I drew a picture, I would share it in the group. A few years ago, Teacher Mengwei suddenly messaged me on WeChat and said, "I want me to share my simple drawing skills with everyone in the group." I was very happy at the time. Because I had heard Li Mo, a teacher working in Africa, share her story in Africa in the group before. I think sharing is an honor, so I thought I would share it with everyone in the group. However, I didn’t dare to write it down in my notebook because I felt it was far away and impossible to achieve.

Luck came suddenly, but it was approaching the Chinese New Year and things were messy. The main reason is that I am afraid that I am not qualified as a novice, I am afraid that my trembling language will make people laugh, and I am afraid that the effect will not be good and I will make a fool of myself, so I have not made an appointment with Teacher Mengwei for a long time.

On the seventh day of the Lunar New Year, everyone went to work normally, and my life was on the right track. From writing my account in mid-December to the Chinese New Year, I read seven books. I just opened the eighth book, "Puppy Money", and I read this passage: "It's not about trying, it's about taking action! If you just hug If you have a try mentality, you will only end up failing and you will achieve nothing. Trying is purely an excuse. You have already thought of a way out before you do it. You can't experiment. You have only two choices - do it. Or don’t do it!”

I want to do it!

So, after the New Year, I took the initiative to contact Teacher Mengwei, and on March 1st, I shared the simple drawings in the group. I was typing when I shared it, but only I knew that my voice was trembling the whole time.

This sharing has added confidence to me and let me know that as long as I affirm myself and work hard, my wishes will always come true one by one.

A few days later, I saw my friend I had the courage to ask and said "try it", and then X contacted me and sent me the information. I was very nervous at the time, afraid that I would not write well, but I remembered the words in the book, "If you just have the mentality of giving it a try, you will only end up in failure, and you will accomplish nothing." So, I told myself, I want to Do this and make an agreement with yourself that next time something like this happens, I can’t say “try” but “I can do it!”

At that time, my husband took the computer to work, and I couldn’t do it at night. I couldn't come back. I was anxious to finish this matter, so I went to my husband's work to finish it on his computer when he was not too busy. I went there after five o'clock, and it was already nine o'clock when I finished writing.

On the third day, we went out of town for business. We took my computer with us when we went, because I had to be prepared at all times. I might need to revise the article at any time. Sure enough, X contacted me that afternoon and said that the article was a bit long. It was already eleven o'clock in the evening when we returned to our residence that day. After washing up, I turned on the computer and started to modify it. After twelve o'clock, I finished it and sent it to X. On the fourth day, X made some slight modifications and gave me the originally agreed upon manuscript fee of 30 yuan. Although it was not much, just the price of a meal for ordinary people, I was really very happy. Because I am a stay-at-home mother with no income, this 30 yuan was earned by myself and through my hobbies, so I am very happy. My goal was to buy a laptop of my own, so I put it into my dedicated laptop account.

Thank you to Teacher Mengwei, thank you to X, and other friends in the group who study side by side! This 30 yuan royalties was the beginning of my affirmation of myself. It was the result of reading books because I wrote my accounts, and it was also the beginning of my dream.
