What are the two sessions and their importance?

In China, the National People's Congress and the China People's Political Consultative Conference are held simultaneously in February and March each year. The duration is about 15 days.

CPPCC meetings generally have their own agendas, such as reviewing the work report of the Standing Committee of CPPCC. Of course, the China People's Political Consultative Conference also participates in the National People's Congress to hear and discuss government work reports, plans and budget reports, and reports from the Supreme People's Court and the Supreme People's Procuratorate. However, there are also differences between NPC meeting and CPPCC meeting: NPC must make a resolution by voting after considering these reports; CPPCC discussed these reports, put forward opinions and suggestions, but made a resolution without a vote.

China People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) is a widely representative political consultative organization under the leadership of China. Listening to and discussing the relevant agenda of NPC meetings plays an important role in the country's political and social life, social modernization and national unity.
