What race do Lisu people belong to?
From the perspective of physical anthropology, Lisu, Naxi, Yi, Hani, Lahu and other ethnic groups all have the characteristics of plateau ethnic groups: long body length, high nose, thin lips and sunken eye sockets, which are obviously different from Wa, Bulang, Zhuang and Dai ethnic groups in South Asian languages. This difference just shows that all ethnic groups in the Yi language branch have the same characteristics of blood relationship and * * *.
Lisu nationality originated from ancient frontier ethnic groups and has a certain relationship with Yi nationality. They are mainly distributed in Nujiang River and Enmeikaijiang River (a tributary of Irrawaddy River), that is, the border areas of Yunnan, China, Tibet and Kachin, Myanmar, and the rest are scattered in other parts of Yunnan, China, northeastern India, and the border areas of Thailand and Myanmar.

The language and culture of Lisu people;
Lisu language belongs to Yi branch of Tibeto-Burman language family of Sino-Tibetan language family. Lisu is a nation with a relatively unified language, and there are no branches in it. Dialects are divided into Nujiang dialect and Luquan dialect. Nujiang dialect is divided into two dialects.
There is little difference in grammar between dialects and dialects, and the vocabulary is basically the same. Therefore, Lisu people, whether living in Yalong River basin or distributed in Jinsha River, Nujiang River and Lancang River basin, use roughly the same language and can talk to each other.
In history, Lisu people didn't create words, so they had to take notes by word of mouth and woodcut. At the beginning of the 20th century, Wang Renbo, a Lisu youth in Weixi County, created the pictograph 1030, which is the first writing in the history of Lisu people. In the early 1920s, an Englishman, Frye, and a Karen youth, Badong, created a second language based on English letters, namely the old Lisu language.
19 13, Wang Huiren, a British missionary, created a "lattice" pinyin based on the pronunciation of Gutao Village in Wuding County, according to the language of Lisu people in Wuding County and Luquan County. The fourth language was created by the Central Institute for Nationalities and the Institute of Linguistics of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences in 1950s, and approved by the State Council. At present, the Lisu language and the old Lisu language are commonly used by all ethnic groups in Nujiang Lisu Autonomous Prefecture.
