How to play World of Warcraft on China Telecom? Why is Netcom so stuck in Zone 2?

Maybe many friends are aware of this matter.

After the 3.3.5 update was completed, from the 22nd to the present, all players using China Telecom Broadband to access the Internet in District 2 have experienced a unique phenomenon - disconnection.

After constantly posting, being deleted, posting again, and being deleted again, NetEase finally realized the problem.

So we created a test to let players give feedback. The date is the 23rd.

It is now the 29th. Our telecom players have been waiting for a whole week. content has not been resolved.

This afternoon I couldn't stand it anymore and did a few tests myself.

After logging into the World of Warcraft game, I grabbed the addresses of the World of Warcraft server at 123.125.137.124 (Beijing China Unicom) and 122.198.64.130 (Chongqing Tietong).

This is two servers, not three.

NetEase canceled the original telecommunications server in District 2.

And they know that the reason why telecom players dropped offline is because they canceled the server.

And when we asked our questions, they acted like they didn't know anything.

Also came up with a baffling test.

At the same time, I also pinged these two server addresses.

I was surprised to find that when I tested China Unicom’s IP, it was all unreachable.

When I tested Tietong’s IP, it prompted that the destination address was unreachable.

Of course, this is ICMP restriction imposed by World of Warcraft to prevent attacks, I can understand that.

However, they were so negligent that they could not conceal their despicable intentions.

When the PING test was performed, the returned destination address was unreachable, and the returned IP turned out to be 115.238.7.70. (Hangzhou Telecom).

So that means that when we telecom users play in Zone 2, we actually use China Railcom’s lines.

Moreover, you must first jump from Hangzhou Telecom before you can access the Tietong server.

Why do I say this is abnormal.

Because mutual visits between network operators, also known as interconnection, are completed through several large core nodes across the country.

Hangzhou is not the core node of telecommunications at all.

It is impossible for interconnection traffic to go from Hangzhou. It can only be from several large core nodes in Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai and Guangzhou.

(This content involves the issue of the operator's network architecture. I have tried my best to explain it in vernacular. I hope everyone can understand it. Professionals please don't laugh.)

And why do telecom users visit What about the Tietong server?

There is no problem with the interconnection between China Unicom and China Telecom. Even during peak Internet hours, there will be no problem.

Why does NetEase insist on telecom operators using Tietong’s servers, and even jump to Hangzhou?

Because they have only one purpose, to restrict all players who use China Telecom broadband to play in the Netcom zone.

In this way, they can make players stuck and disconnected.

At the same time, this problem will not be solved. In this way, players have no choice but to transfer to the telecommunications area.

And they also save the telecom servers specially invested for the second district telecom players and the annual IDC server hosting fee.

At this point, I have made the purpose of NetEase very clear.

NetEase ignores the feelings of players and ignores the rights of players.

Resolutely committed such a despicable act.

On behalf of the vast number of telecommunications users in District 2, I am here to appeal to friends in World of Warcraft.

For us players in District 2 who are reluctant to leave the friends we have made over the years.

For our players who have left so many wonderful memories in District 2.

Please tap your keyboard to lift this post up.

At the same time, I hope everyone will forward this post to the World of Warcraft-related forums you know.

On behalf of all the telecom players in District 2, I would like to thank you all.
