What does the word "Jushe" mean?

Abandon everything, leaving no worries.

"Kusha" is a school of Chinese Buddhism. Also known as Jushe Sect. It is named after the "Kusha Lun" passed down by Vasubandhu.

His scholars are called Jushe Lunshi. His view is that all dharmas in the world are nothing more than the five aggregates, the twelve bases, and the eighteen realms. This category structure is called the five-digit seventy-five method. He advocates the existence of emptiness, and takes the Four Noble Truths as the object of meditation in order to finally achieve liberation. Although it is still said that the self-nature exists, it is no longer the original theory of three generations of real existence and the eternal existence of the Dharma body.

In India, after Vasubandhu, there were still Dehui and Anhui who taught the Kushashastra. In the fifth year of Chen Tianjia's reign in the Southern Dynasty (564), Zhenyi translated this treatise in Guangzhou and explained it along with it. His disciples recorded it as Yishu.

Two years later, another translation and lecture was added. In the first year of Chen Guangda (567), 22 volumes of "Abhidharmakusa Commentary" were written. Later, his disciples Hui Kai and others spread the word.

In his early years, Xuanzang listened to "Kusha Lun" at Hui Kai's private disciple Daoyue. After arriving in India, he devoted himself to studying the great virtues of Jixian, Sangxian and other great virtues.

After returning to China, he translated 30 volumes of this treatise in the second to third years of Yonghui reign in the Tang Dynasty (651-652), and titled it "Abhidharmakusa Treatise". Later, he translated various related texts, such as "Shunzheng Theory", "Abhidharmaksha Commentary", etc., and explained them to his disciples at the same time.
