There is another such story. Our college counselor gave us popular science on the first day of admission: there is no word "fat" in Cantonese. Calling you "fat" is a friendly gesture. There is no word "hometown" in spoken Cantonese. By default, they all came out of the countryside n generations ago. So Cantonese people ask, "Where is your country?"
