Phase II of Qinghai-Tibet Railway: Golmud-Lhasa section, starting from Golmud City, Qinghai Province, along the Qinghai-Tibet Highway to the south, passing through Nachitai, Wudaoliang, Tuotuo and Yanshiping, crossing Tanggula Mountain, and then passing through Amdo, Naqu, Dangxiong and Yangbajing in Xizang Autonomous Region, entering Lhasa City, with a total length of 1 142km (newly built 65438. The construction period is 6 years. The designed annual transport capacity is 8 pairs of passenger cars, and the cargo flow density is 5 million tons. Construction of the new line started on June 29th, 2006 at 5438+0. In 2002, the track was laid from Nanshankou to the south. In 2004, tracks were laid in Amdo in both north and south directions. In 2005, the track was laid through Tanggula Mountain, and the whole line was laid in advance. It was put into trial operation in July 2006.
