Should parents take their children to and from school by tricycle?

A primary school in Henan issued a notice that parents should not ride tricycles to pick up and drop off students, otherwise they would directly tow the cars away and punish parents and schools. I don't think it makes sense for the school to force parents not to ride tricycles because their children are suspended. Therefore, once this notice was issued, it aroused widespread concern from parents and society.

There are indeed safety problems in tricycles on the road, which need local centralized rectification. Especially in the morning and evening rush hours, there are various means of transportation around the school to pick up and drop off children. Ensuring the traffic order at the school gate is also to protect the safety of students. However, it is neither legal nor reasonable to rectify traffic order by suspending classes for children and forcing parents to cross the line.

It is not difficult to guess that the school gate, as one of the blocking points, has suffered a lot of pressure and tasks, and the school may have to make this decision. Threatening to suspend classes and poking at parents' "weakness" may also have an immediate effect, but this is not the correct way of governance.

In the final analysis, it is still necessary to solve the transportation problem for children to and from school. It is unrealistic to drive school buses in some counties, and we must find a way to solve this problem. It is also the proper meaning of traffic management to meet the needs of parents to send their children to and from school and create convenient conditions.

In any case, traffic management and students going to school are two different things, not an either-or relationship. Traffic management departments and schools should perform their respective duties.
