Xu Da is a hero. Why didn't Zhu Yuanzhang do it to him?
Zhu Yuanzhang is the only emperor from a civilian background in the history of China. He defeated the Mongols step by step by his own skill to establish the Ming regime. But in many unofficial history, Zhu Yuanzhang is regarded as an ambitious and heartless man, who slaughtered heroes after the founding of the People's Republic of China.
In folklore, Zhu Yuanzhang set fire to the meritorious building and burned a minister who had made contributions. Because this is a legend of unofficial history, there are different versions. There is a saying that Xu Da saw Zhu Yuanzhang burn everyone. When everyone was drinking, Xu Da followed Zhu Yuanzhang, saying that he would disarm and return to the field, and Zhu Yuanzhang was saved from death.
There is also a saying that Xu Da got back sores in his later years, which are generally caused by heart fire. Although it doesn't seem to be a serious illness now, in ancient times, many celebrities just got a sore on their backs and then died. For example, Liu Biao, at the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty, heard that Cao Cao was going to send troops south and died of back sores in the hot summer.
If you get this disease, you must avoid it, that is, keep the light, and Xu Da has sores on his back. Zhu Yuanzhang asked him to eat roast goose, which is hairy, and Xu Da died soon after eating it.
In fact, these jokes are all made up to discredit Zhu Yuanzhang. They have no historical basis and cannot stand scrutiny. Zhu Yuanzhang's regime was based on the peasant uprising, and many generals around him were from humble origins. After the establishment of the Ming Dynasty, these generals were arrogant and even rebellious because of their low cultural quality. Under such circumstances, Zhu Yuanzhang repeatedly built Dayu in order to ensure the stable development of the regime.
However, Xu Da is not such a figure. After Zhu Yuanzhang took part in the uprising in his early years, he was ordered by Guo Zixing to recruit soldiers. Xu Da was the first person to follow Zhu Yuanzhang in farmland. In the process of following Zhu Yuanzhang, Zhu Yuanzhang found that Xu Da was superior, so he entrusted him with an important task and asked him to replace himself in all directions.
At that time, Zhu Yuanzhang saw that Guo Zixing and other generals could not succeed, so he led his own independent team of 24 people to leave Haozhou for development, and Xu Da was among them. 1355 After Zhu Yuanzhang laid the country, Sun Deya rebels captured Zhu Yuanzhang, and Xu Da offered to exchange himself for Zhu Yuanzhang, thus resolving the contradiction between the rebels. At this point, Zhu Yuanzhang paid more attention to Xu Da.
In the early days of Zhu Yuanzhang's campaign, Xu Da always took the lead, taking the lead and bravely crowned the three armies. When Zhu Yuanzhang was called Duke Wu after he laid Nanjing, he took Xu Da as his privy council.
It is extremely rare that Zhu Yuanzhang sometimes stayed in Xu Da to guard Nanjing during his personal expedition. After Zhu Yuanzhang took Nanking as his base, his main enemies were Chen Youliang and Zhang Shicheng, and Xu Da also made great achievements in pacifying Chen Youliang and Zhang Shicheng.
Zhu Yuanzhang's greatest reuse of Xu Da was in 1367 when the Northern Expedition decided to attack Mengyuan. He took Xu Da as the general conqueror and led 250,000 troops to the Northern Expedition. In the history of China, reunification from south to north was always difficult, but under the leadership of Xu Da, the Northern Expedition went smoothly. In less than a year, it laid the foundation of Beijing and won the final victory of the Northern Expedition.
After overthrowing the Yuan Dynasty, Xu Da cracked down on the Mongolian remnants and wiped out the forces participating in the war in the Yuan Dynasty. Since then, Xu Da has been arranged to guard the border in Beiping and return to Nanjing for a long time. Xu Da finally got a sore on his back and died in Peiping.
So it is impossible for Zhu Yuanzhang to kill Xu Da. After Xu Da's death, Zhu Yuanzhang was personally buried and listed as the founding hero of the Ming Dynasty, King Zhongshan of posthumous title. In the Ming dynasty, few people could be chased as kings with different surnames. Zhu Yuanzhang once praised him and said,' Order a ban. I don't take credit for myself, I don't covet women's treasures, I handle problems fairly, and there is no fault. There is only one person in the world who has this virtue, and that is Xu Da. ''
