Editor's recommendation

Han Han's first magical realism work. A satirical novel.

Seven young people, Barley, Wang Zhi, Wan Heping, Shishan, Hong Zhong, Miqi and Louti, voluntarily gave up distribution after graduation. They don't want to join foreign companies or become white-collar workers. Instead, I learned from the seven sages of the ancient bamboo forest and came to a remote village called "Peace Phoenix". They volunteer to teach in village primary schools, and at the same time realize their ideals with their own specialties. They study guns and explosives, build houses and grow vegetables. There is also an elderly botanist, Liu Xiaoli, and his two-legged dog. These seemingly abnormal people built a strange world of their own, and many strange things happened. It seems absurd, but it has all kinds of ideas. As the story deepens, they look for the future in their own world. ...

Rong Yaori inherited Han Han's rebellious and humorous works. Compared with his previous works, the stories and conflicts between characters are concentrated, not scattered as in his previous works, which is another innovation and breakthrough in his style.

Han Han's new work in 2007 is a long-awaited work by Korean fans. This novel has been hyped for a long time. Han Han himself plans to direct and shoot a film of the same name after the novel is published. This film will be a small production, and the investment will not exceed10 million yuan. Lu Jinbo thinks that the movie may not be worse than Crazy Stone, because Han Han's language itself is very humorous.

Interview with Han Han

Han Han's book title has nothing to do with content

Reporter (hereinafter referred to as reporter): When you see Rong Yaori, you can enjoy it while watching it. This book keeps your usual writing style, humorous, witty and ironic. Is this your usual style of speaking?

Han Han (hereinafter referred to as Han): Not necessarily. It depends on who you are with. It's actually quite tiring to talk like this. If you go on saying that, you will definitely hurt your brain.

Reporter: The novel is about seven boys who go to a remote primary school to teach after graduating from college. In class, they study guns and explosives, build houses and grow vegetables, and a group of people who look abnormal build a strange world ... How did you come up with such a story?

Han: When I write realistic things, there will always be someone sitting in the right position, and there will always be many taboos that I can't let go. So I found a completely virtual thing to write about. In fact, what I wrote is still realistic.

Reporter: Is this book not finished yet? Why is it called "the first season"?

Han: The word comes from 24 hours. I was watching the sixth season when I wrote it. At that time, I just wanted to publish the first season of Rong Yaori, so that I could write as many seasons as I could. Of course, this is a bit of a spoof, but it has nothing to do with American drama.

Reporter: The publisher labeled your new book "magic realism". Do you agree with this statement?

Han: A novel is a novel. Packaging with any concept is naive. "Magic realism" is an old concept, not what I thought, but there is really no way. Laugh if you understand, ask if you don't understand.

Reporter: There are seven boys in it. Is there a shadow of yourself in it?

Han: Some people say that the author's first book is a semi-autobiography. I write it down now, and I have long been out of my own writing mode. One can't always write about oneself, that's all.

Reporter: But I have never understood why this book is called Glory Day.

Han: I don't quite understand the meaning of this title either. When I first named it, I just thought it sounded good and liked it very much. The title has nothing to do with the content. Don't you think there is any book with that name?

Reporter: How do you evaluate this book? What's your favorite book?

Han: Triple Door is my best-selling book. But looking at it now, it is very artificial and naive. Personally, I prefer Chang 'an Luan, and I haven't finished writing Glory Day yet. If I can persist in writing it down, it will still be a book I like.
