First, the creative background of The Torchbearer

This incident also surprised the Zhao Benshan team, and immediately understood that on the one hand, the theme of the Olympic Games is more or less suitable for the occasion, which easily makes the audience feel psychologically tired. On the other hand, because of the great influence of the Olympic Games, the actors of other language programs did not choose this theme, fearing that they would crash with others and lose the election.

So, by mistake, the Zhao Benshan team took over the double-edged sword of Olympic theme, which is easy to get angry and muddy. However, this is also a task given by the director group of the Spring Festival Evening. After all, it is unreasonable that a Spring Festival Evening doesn't even have a language program with an Olympic theme.

The screenwriter of this sketch is Xu Zhengchao, and The Torchbearer is his second Spring Festival Evening sketch for Zhao Benshan. This screenwriter is much younger than He Qingkui, Juck Zhang and Cui Kai, and he belongs to the new generation.

The Torchbearer is directed by Gao Dakuan, who has another identity, Zhao Benshan's agent. Two years after the Torchbearer, Gao Dakuan was fired by Zhao Benshan, and half a year later Gao Dakuan was arrested for taking drugs. Compared with Zhao Benshan's former director Zhang Huizhong, Gao Dakuan is undoubtedly more like a number-gathering role.

It should be said that among the creators of The Torchbearer, three actors, Zhao Benshan and Song Dandan, have rich experience and high level, and Liu Liu has appeared in the Spring Festival Gala several times, so the lineup of writers and directors is relatively thin, which is also one of the hidden dangers of the sketch.

To my surprise, Zhao Benshan kissed Song Dandan during the performance. This performance is not in the script and rehearsal, and belongs to Zhao Benshan's improvisation. However, according to Zhao Benshan, he only told Song Dandan before (I don't think it's ok not to tell her, ha), which is a "surprise" that Zhao Benshan gave to the audience.

Another surprise is that Zhao Benshan added something about the snowstorm in his final speech, which was also improvisation, and not only was it not in the script and rehearsal, but even Liu Liu and Song Dandan didn't know it. Zhao Benshan only told the screenwriter Xu Zhengchao and told him to keep it a secret.
