Due to the harsh natural environment, these varieties have developed water utilization functions that adapt to the natural conditions of drought and little rain in desert environment. Most of them can maintain their normal physiological functions for a long time only by relying on very limited water, and some can even maintain their normal lives by taking water from food.

It is precisely because these desert lizards are hungry and thirsty, so the supply of water has become the most neglected link in the already extensive feeding methods of these species. You know, although these species are all creatures from a water-deficient environment, it definitely does not mean that they will not be dehydrated and will not have health problems in an environment without water at all. Lizard is a drought-tolerant animal, and rarely drinks water during the feeding process. It is best to use cold boiled water for drinking water. When artificially feeding water, people sit on a chair and put it on their legs, and gently pour the lizard's head into the water with their fingers (the water container should be a shallow bowl). If its cheeks squirm, it is regarded as drinking water; If the lizard struggles with its head up, it means that it doesn't need to feed water immediately.

It is necessary to spray water on lizards during normal maintenance. You can spray some water at one end of the breeding box every other day or week. On the one hand, lizards can lick the water drops on the wall of the food box to get moisture. On the other hand, doing so can also create a damp corner in the food box, which is beneficial for lizards to shed their skin and adjust their body functions.

In addition, there is a basin to replenish water for desert lizards. Water basin is an absolutely necessary setting in the breeding environment of desert lizards, which can ensure that lizards can find water as soon as they feel thirsty, instead of waiting for water but not feeding it. It should be noted that the water in the basin needs to be replaced once a week to ensure cleanliness, and the water level should also be paid attention to, and the relative individual size should not be too high to avoid drowning.

You can also replenish water through diet. The first source of water for most desert lizards is food, and they are provided with food regularly. It is also a good way to avoid dehydration to ensure the supply of vegetables in the feeding environment if it is a variety of vegetables.

In addition, giving lizards a hot bath is also the best way to replenish water.
