As a child who grew up in the countryside, whenever I mentioned Mandarin, I felt my heart pricked.

No one around speaks Mandarin, and even in class, 99% of the teachers use dialects.

I was going downstairs when I met a girl in my dormitory on the stairs. She asked me what I was doing.

I replied that I went down to call my dad (at that time, I called from the campus phone booth).

Then I heard her burst into laughter. I repeated the word "telephone", and I realized that I said these three words in the tone of my hometown dialect, which sounded awkward.

Later, it became the stalk of our dormitory. My roommate asks me from time to time, "Did you call today?"

Every time I hear it, I feel super annoyed and want to slap her in the face, but on the surface I can only pretend not to care.

After practicing Mandarin, I thought it was ok, but I didn't expect to be laughed at by students after work.

At that time, I said, "I will announce the rules of the game." I realize that the word "rules" is out of tune again, and I hope no one will care. A boy with poor grades "laughed" and repeated the word "rules" in an exaggerated tone.
