Why are so many of Lu Xun’s articles selected into textbooks?

The articles by Lu Xun that I still remember from the textbooks include:

Hometown, Social Opera, Memorial to Mr. Liu Hezhen, Kong Yiji, Sister Xianglin, On the Fall of Leifeng Pagoda, Mr. Fujino, the theory of "Astonished Friends", and the poem "Self-mockery"

There may be a few more, but I can't remember them.

I think the reason why so many of Lu Xun’s articles exist in textbooks is because Lu Xun’s articles are highly ideological. These articles of his reflected various social phenomena of that era to a certain extent, revealing the essence behind various phenomena, thereby arousing our reflection and allowing us to have our own understanding and judgment of these phenomena and essence, thereby deepening Our world view.

Many of his novels sometimes seem like "cold jokes", but behind these "jokes" they reveal a kind of sadness, suffering and ignorance of that era. The reason why Mr. Lu Xun gave up medicine and followed literature was because he felt that even if the people's bodies were cured, the people's minds would still be distorted and incomplete. Therefore, he used his pen to awaken the people and reminded the people that we need to change all this. Only "revolution" can dispel this "darkness".

So I think the significance of Lu Xun’s articles in textbooks is to show us a kind of ideology, a spirit that even in modern times we still need to reflect on from time to time.
