How did Napoleon seize power from Parliament?

On November 9, 1799, Napoleon took action. His confidant Sieyès arranged for the conspirators in the Senate to use the excuse that "the Republic of China is in crisis" and let the Senate pass a decree to appoint Napoleon as the commander of the Paris garrison. Then, Napoleon was summoned to the Senate to swear allegiance to the Constitution. Napoleon then sent troops to take control of the Directory and take over all affairs of the revolutionary government. This day is the 18th Brumaire in the French Christian calendar, so the coup launched by Napoleon on this day was historically called the "18th Brumaire Coup".

The next day, Napoleon suddenly led his troops to appear in the Apollo Hall of Saint-Cloud Palace where the senators were meeting. He loudly accused the senators. After that, Napoleon dissolved the French Parliament, seized the power of the Parliament, and announced the establishment of a ruling government, with himself as one of the provisional three governors. Soon, Napoleon was elected first consul.
