Is Guizhou dialect the same as Sichuan dialect?

Guizhou dialect is the same as Sichuan dialect.

They are all a branch of southwest mandarin, but they are not as self-contained as Cantonese, Min dialect and Xiang dialect, but are regarded as northern dialect areas like northern provinces. But in the eyes of northerners, Guizhou dialect, like Yunnan dialect, is regarded as "Sichuan dialect" by them. In fact, this is not surprising. Guizhou and Sichuan are connected by mountains and rivers and have a profound historical background. Most immigrants from Guizhou in Han Dynasty came from Pakistan and Sichuan. Kuizhou Road, which ruled Guizhou in the Song Dynasty, was also in Fengjie, Sichuan. Moreover, Zunyi in northern Guizhou also belonged to Sichuan in the Yuan and Ming Dynasties, so Guizhou dialect generally belongs to Sichuan, Yunnan and Guizhou dialects. Similar to Sichuan dialect and Yunnan dialect. So why is such an authentic southwest mandarin actually a northern dialect? This has to mention the development of China's ancient history. Since the Three Emperors and Five Emperors, most of the political, economic and cultural centers in ancient China were in the Central Plains. Sichuan is connected with Shaanxi and close to Henan, and has long been influenced by the Central Plains in culture. After the Qin Dynasty unified China, a large number of Zhongyuan people entered Sichuan, bringing the northern language, culture and technology into Sichuan, making Sichuan dialect and Northern dialect belong to a regional "Mandarin area". During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, the Han nationality immigrated to Guizhou on a large scale, and Chinese culture spread widely in Guizhou, so that Guizhou dialect area became the "Mandarin area". This is why Sichuan-Yunnan-Guizhou dialect belongs to the northern dialect although it is the southwest mandarin. Because Guizhou dialect, Sichuan dialect and Yunnan dialect are all northern dialects, there is no obvious grammatical difference. Phonetically speaking, "tone" is also relatively consistent, but the differences between vowels are obvious. For example, the distinction between "An" and "Ang" in Guizhou dialect is very clear, but not in Sichuan and Yunnan dialects. For another example, Sichuan dialect is "Hua Er", which is not found in most parts of Guizhou. Just because you can understand Guizhou dialect and speak Sichuan dialect doesn't mean you can speak Guizhou dialect. Subtle differences can only be understood by local people.
