As a unique literary form, couplets have a long history in our country. It began with the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms, was particularly prosperous in the Ming and Qing dynasties, and has developed to this day for more than a thousand years.

Couplets are developed from the antithetical sentences of Qi poems. They retain some characteristics of Qi poems. The ancients compared poetry recitation to the pairings, which to a certain extent reflects the relationship between the two. Couplets are elegantly called couplets and commonly known as pairs. They are simple in words and profound in meaning, with neat contrasts and harmonious levels. It is a unique art form of the Chinese language with one word and one sound. It can be said that the art of couplets is a cultural treasure of the Chinese nation.

The types of couplets are roughly divided into spring couplets, happy couplets, birthday couplets, elegiac couplets, decorative couplets, social couplets, industry couplets, humorous couplets and miscellaneous couplets.

As far as humorous couplets are concerned, they are humorous, concise and profound, and easy to understand. It is informative, interesting and artistic. It is usually associated with folk tales to achieve the purpose of educating people.

Folk stories are a sumptuous accompaniment for people after work, before tea and after meals. Through laughter, they can gain knowledge, education and happiness, so as to strengthen their health and prolong their life.

I have recently passed my sixtieth birthday. After I retired from my job, I have nothing to do. I want to sort out some of the interesting folk stories I have heard and seen in my life to enlighten them. Later generations felt that their culture was shallow, their knowledge was lacking, and their writing ability was poor, so they dared not write. Once, when the village was celebrating the Spring Festival, he was even more busy. On the eve of the New Year’s Eve, there was a particularly poor household that didn’t even put up a door couplet. I wanted to post a couplet, so I asked the old scholar to write it. The old scholar wrote a couplet based on his family situation. First line: Eat one liter, buy one liter, and the rise will continue. Second line: Spend one, borrow one, the debt is endless. The horizontal comment is: I am impoverished, and the poor man thanked me with satisfaction.

Another time, a blind young man in the village found a partner through someone's introduction. He was also blind, but he was a good match and had the same conditions. He wanted to go to the church to get married on a certain date. So I found an old scholar to write a wedding couplet. The old scholar thought a little and wrote a wedding couplet. First couplet: It is difficult for loving couples to meet each other. Second line: Save lamp oil at night. The horizontal comment is: touch blindly. Everyone felt wonderful when they saw it.

Another time, a family asked him to write a wedding couplet for their son's wedding. Unexpectedly, just after praying to heaven and earth, the 80-year-old man in the family died. What should I do if they appear at the same time? The person in charge said: "The red event will proceed as usual, and we will secretly prepare for the white event." So they hurriedly set up the funeral shed and prepared for the funeral. Obviously, the wedding couplet at the gate was not appropriate. So the old scholar had an idea and wrote another couplet, replacing the original wedding couplet. The first couplet was: "Red happy events, white happy events, red and white happy events." The second couplet was: "Can't cry, can't laugh, can't laugh or cry." It is: "Sorrows and joys". Everyone was applauded when they saw it.

Once again, a family wanted to start a business selling bean sprouts, and when they opened the business, they asked an old scholar to write a couplet. The first couplet is: "Long, long, long, long." The second couplet is also: "Long, long, long, long." This couplet has the same word but different pronunciation, so there is something wonderful about how you read it. After the opening, people were curious and came to see the couplets. People came and went, and the business was very prosperous. In addition, he had good integrity, strict craftsmanship, and quality first. For this reason, the business grew bigger and bigger, and he became famous far and wide.

Finally, the girl suggested that she should choose a talented man as her lifelong partner, so she wrote a couplet: "The wonderful person is the girl from the Ni family." In this couplet, the person and the girl are combined into the character "Ni", and the girl is combined into the character "Miao", which is really true. It is full of fun and very difficult, so no one has been able to match it. Seeing the girl getting older and older, in her seventies, someone actually answered the second line: "The son of the stubborn boy and the strong ox of the Sun family." The strong ox combined into the word "犊" , boy combined into the character "grandson", the couplets are correct and very neat, but when asked, the person who answered the lower couplet was actually a sixteen-year-old boy. Gao Zecheng refused to marry

The young man chanted casually: "Red embroidered shoes, yellow embroidered shoes, things shake when you walk." The girl added a second couplet: "A black and white cat came in outside the gate."

Qingyunzhishang has a trick

If you accept them, you love money." The farmer was illiterate and didn't understand the purpose of receiving the coins, so he asked his son to read them. Although the farmer is poor, his son is extremely smart and has read a few books. After reading it, I wrote back a second line. It wrote: "Two thatched huts to entertain guests, don't come if you are afraid of poverty, come and enjoy the food." After Qianlong looked at it, he felt that this young man was extraordinary. I asked a few more questions and got fluent answers. The emperor went away very satisfied. A few days later, an order was issued to summon the young man to the palace, where he was awarded the title of Hanlin bachelor and participated in the emperor's scientific examination.
