Why should Israel support Hamas, which constantly attacks Israeli civilians?

Compared with Israel, the only developed country in the Middle East, the Hamas resistance organization entrenched in the long and narrow Gaza is very weak.

Its armed forces can hardly compete with Israel, and they can only rely on guerrillas to brush their sense of existence. Or encourage women, children and children to come forward, attack and provoke Israeli soldiers with stones, and hide behind them to shoot videos. Once Israeli soldiers are angered and fight back, they use videos to create public opinion and gain international sympathy.

Hamas also attacked Israeli civilian areas with rockets and threatened to make Israel disappear from the Middle East.

Then, for such a hostile extremist organization, why did Israel let it grow and develop, but did not completely destroy it and directly occupy the Gaza Strip?

The first is the emergence of Hamas.

Hamas is now an extremist Islamic radical organization. However, its predecessor was actually an Islamic charity organization founded by Ahmed Yassin in 1973.

After the Egyptian defeat in the Fourth Middle East War, Israel took control of Gaza.

However, taking advantage of the gap between the Israelis and the Fatah guerrillas of the PLO, Yassin's Gaza Muslim Brotherhood branch has been growing in the name of charity.

At that time, moderate Islamists headed by Fatah still held the right to speak of Palestinians. They know that it is difficult to confront Israel and tend to the principle of peace.

However, Yassin's Muslim Brotherhood firmly opposed it and insisted on overthrowing Israeli rule by force. There are differences within Palestine, and the two factions parted ways.

In order to achieve their goals, the Muslim Brotherhood formed the Hamas Armed Forces. At the beginning of its establishment, there were not many supporters, only a few hundred. It is also often squeezed by the Fatah PLO.

In order to achieve the goal of disintegrating the Palestinian national liberation movement, Israel strongly supported Hamas's armed forces and provided them with weapons and financial assistance. Looking forward to Palestinian infighting, Israeli fishermen will benefit.

Second, the complexity of Gaza.

Gaza Strip is a long and narrow strip on the west coast of Israel and the northeast of Sinai Peninsula, bordering on Egypt 1 1 km and Israel 5 1 km. The area is only 365 square kilometers, but the total population is as high as 3.08 million, mainly Palestinians.

1948 during the Arab-Israeli war, Egypt occupied Gaza. 1967 during the third middle east war, Israel regained control of the Gaza strip. After decades of rule, in 2005, Israel voluntarily withdrew from the Gaza, along with troops and Jewish settlements.

In 2007, a civil war broke out between the PLO and Hamas, and Hamas gained the upper hand and completely controlled the Gaza Strip.

Gaza is sparsely populated and lacks employment opportunities. It has become the most difficult area in the world. Lack of medical care, water and electricity can't even solve basic food and clothing. About half of the nearly 3 million people live in refugee camps.

It is precisely because of the complexity of the Gaza Strip that it is quite difficult to manage, and the loss outweighs the gain, that the Israeli authorities will let the Hamas continue to exist and let it control and manage the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. This is obviously much more affordable than destroying them and directly occupying and controlling Gaza.

Third, the strategy of territorial expansion.

We know that Israel has always wanted to annex the West Bank, but it doesn't want the Palestinians there. The biggest advantage of defending Gaza is to squeeze the living space of Palestinians in the West Bank a little, forcing them to move to Gaza.

Let Hamas control the Gaza Strip, or even expand it, in order to improve the status of Hamas in the hearts of Palestinians and gradually replace the Palestinian government in the West Bank.

Once this goal is achieved, the Palestinians will completely perish. Because Hamas is defined as an extremist terrorist organization internationally, it will not be recognized by the international community. By then, the whole Palestinian nation will become a public enemy of the world, and any action by Israel will be a just move.

Therefore, when the Israelis are free now, they should tease Hamas and highlight its role as a mainstay. And let it maintain its controllable strength, let it inspire the people and provoke Israel.

If the Palestinians can't understand this truth clearly, they will still engage in infighting in ignorance. Then it is only a matter of time before Israel completely annex the West Bank. At that time, the wandering fate of Jews thousands of years ago may be staged for Palestinians again.
