Ye Zhenhua said that Auspicious Restaurant is different from a farce that is funny for fun, but it has a strong drama conflict, which depends on the script of the late movie master Wang Binglin. Wang Binglin directed some representative works in the history of comedy films in China, such as Father and Son, Two Sons Opening a Shop, Cockfighting and so on. Auspicious restaurant was his painstaking work before his death. Ye Zhenhua is also a comedy director. He wrote and directed dramas such as Zuiquan Su Beggar and Zuiquan Zhang San, all of which are cartoons.

Auspicious Restaurant is also the first vegetarian TV series in China. It is said that Empress Dowager Cixi is tired of eating delicacies. Recalling the fun of filming, Ye Zhenhua said that Gong Hanlin's scenes were few, so his scenes were concentrated. But after filming, I found that there was something wrong with the existing scene.
