Mongolia in My Eyes: My Views (4)

Seeing this, many people may take it for granted that Mongolia is so backward, which must be due to poor population quality and low education level. The quality of the population is hard to say. After all, we need multi-dimensional judgment, but the education level is definitely not what we think. Mongolia has a small population and a young population structure, with an average age of 30 to 40, which is more obvious in Ulaanbaatar, where about 80% of the population is young and middle-aged, making it one of the youngest cities in the world. Accordingly, the education level is very high, and the proportion of undergraduate and graduate students is also very high. There is a joke that you go to the food market in the capital to buy food. The stall owner may be a doctor. However, this is no joke. According to statistics, Mongolia has a population of more than 3 million, including nearly 200 institutions of higher learning. On average, one in every four people in Ulaanbaatar is attending school, while the higher education level of Mongolian citizens ranks first in Asia, and many young people have the experience of studying abroad. This is mainly because Mongolia implements the national universal free general education system, and individuals or families hardly need to bear any school fees, including studying abroad. It is worth mentioning that according to Mongolian colleagues, almost every international student will return to China after completing their studies (contrary to our country). Speaking of which, I also find it ironic. Why is the national education so high that it seems to be of little help to Mongolia's development? Of course there are many reasons. Let me give you an example. One of my Mongolian colleagues, whose younger brother has been back from studying in Turkey for more than a year, is still not at work. He stays at home or plays around every day. The reason is that I was too tired to study in the past few years and needed to rest for a while. The problem is that he has rested for more than a year. What is the tiredness of being studied? I asked, this is almost a common phenomenon.

So, where is the problem? First of all, people are too lazy and have no sense of struggle; Second, it is related to China's economic and social development, and the content learned cannot be used; Third, return to the issue of social atmosphere. After all, nomadic countries cannot be changed for a while. Fourth, I have to talk about wine. It is no exaggeration to say that Mongols are as good as Russians. I can give two examples. In the capital, the temperature is extremely low in winter, and almost every day there are some cases of lying outside and freezing to death because of drunkenness. In the elevator, I met a Mongolian drunkard who just came in from the outside, still carrying a beer bottle in his hand, and insisted on drinking with us (also saying cheers in Chinese), holding two bottles of Red Star Erguotou in his arms. The temperature is MINUS ten or twenty degrees, we can't stand going out, and people can still drink with bottles; Also, in my mining area, drinking is forbidden in theory, but it can't be implemented at all. After the bar closed, the Mongols made a scene. However, after the bar opened, they drank without restraint. Even during working hours, after several safety accidents, the bar closed again, but it didn't work. Finally, it was changed to a bar that opened every Tuesday and Saturday. They could only drink in the bar and were not allowed to take it out.
