Is "Three Little Pigs" an idiom?
According to Dongsen News on the 23rd, the Ministry of Education of Taiwan Province officially launched the online and CD-ROM versions of idiom dictionaries in April 2005. Recently, some students found that words that don't look like idioms, such as Three Little Pigs, The Truman Show, Little Match Girl, Hen and Golden Egg, are all included in the appendix of this idiom dictionary, which many experts and scholars on the island don't agree with. Some critics believe that idioms to be included in the idiom dictionary should be words that have accumulated over time, have specific meanings and are recognized by the public.
Faced with the opposition of public opinion, Taiwan Province's Ministry of Education had to change its name urgently, instead of calling it "three little pigs" and "Truman Show", it was called "reference materials".
