The station’s “non-staff” employees

Bai Ning

In 1998, the 40th anniversary of the establishment of Huangshi People's Broadcasting Station. In this year, his wife was transferred from the Propaganda Department of the Huangshi Municipal Party Committee to work at the radio station. From then on, she became a member of the family. I have had an indissoluble bond with Huangshi Radio and Television for twenty years.

Before my wife came to the radio station, I basically knew the leaders of Jinfu, Changping, and Jianxin stations. Soon our home moved from the municipal party committee compound to the radio and television compound. Treat me as an outsider, and you will become a friend from an acquaintance. In 1999, he was transferred from the Propaganda Department to the Deputy Director of the Bureau of Radio, Film and Television and Director of the Radio Station. We became even more familiar with Hutchison Whampoa. We have been neighbors for many years, as well as old friends and chess buddies.

In the first few years, the radio station was impacted by television and other media, and it was difficult to adapt to market changes. It was in the most difficult period. You can imagine the office conditions in those years by looking at old photos. Sometimes the salary was Difficult to distribute. "Too few people listen to the radio now," my wife said anxiously. Yes, just say me! I haven't listened to the radio for more than ten years since I got a TV at home.

Because my work requires my wife to turn on the radio whenever she is at home. In order to support her work, I also try to watch as little TV as possible and listen to "Huangshi News", "Very Attention", "Happy Journey" and " You can tell who broadcasts programs such as "Cheating at the Gas Station". In order to survive and develop, they went out to examine and study, and contacted and developed customers everywhere. I also helped them come up with ideas and find ways to use the advantages of going overseas to help find opportunities.

The fight against floods in 1998 and the fight against SARS in 2003 are two major disasters and events that have occurred in Huangshi since its establishment. During the flood fight, my wife often worked all night long at the radio station. I also witnessed journalists working day and night on the front lines of flood fights, rescue operations, and medical treatment during extraordinary times. They used the shortest time to publish reports one after another, spreading the party's voice and the latest news from the front line to thousands of households in a timely manner through the "never disappearing" radio waves, playing a role in stabilizing people's hearts, boosting morale, and guiding disaster relief. It is precisely because of the fight against floods and SARS that radio people re-examined the "power of voice"! Its speed, convenience, and flexibility are unmatched by other media, which also allows them to see the hope of reviving the broadcasting industry. This strengthened the confidence and found a way to develop using one's own advantages and characteristics in order to get out of the trough.

Because I have more exposure, I often participate in radio activities and sometimes help out. In 2000, a program reflecting the reform of state-owned enterprises and the re-employment of laid-off workers was broadcast live at the Workers' Cultural Palace. Considering that I have worked in a state-owned enterprise for many years, I was asked to be a guest in the audience. The host Gao Jun (later transferred to the provincial station) interviewed me: "Please give me your opinion, please." The title of "elder" has been used for many years. I still remember it vividly. In 2005, the radio station started broadcasting the "Fashion Hotline" program. Sometimes my wife, who was afraid of being left out in the cold, and was listening to the radio at home, quickly asked me to call and report the problem in the name of a listener. Later, the show became more and more popular, and it was difficult to call the hotline, so I had nothing to do. "Difficult things, annoying things, this thing and that thing, the interests of the masses are no small matter; the voice of talking, the voice of answering, the sound of wind and rain, the echo of a harmonious society." The accurate positioning link of this program was broadcast by Xuejuan and Yu Lei, The voice is so believable and approachable.

In the years before moving into the new radio and television building in Tuanchengshan, every New Year’s Eve, the team members of the radio station would stay up with the employees on duty. They would hang up red lanterns and paste couplets in front of the radio station’s door. , the big tree in front of the door is also covered with colorful lights, and people are making dumplings and singing karaoke in the lobby on the first floor to welcome the New Year's bell. As expected of an announcer and host, he sang much better than our company employees. Chai Jun's "Night on the Prairie" by Ke Zirong, Jiang Ping, and Chai Jun's Peking Opera selection "Strike of Wisdom"......... Adds to the festive cheer.

After I started driving a car in 2004, whenever the radio station held large-scale events, I was indispensable. They only had a small car driven by Jiangshan and it was too busy. I also became a full-time driver, helping to pick up and drop off people and transport speakers. Equipment, mineral water, lunch boxes. When we arrive at the venue, we help arrange the seats. After the show, we check with our loved ones to see if we have left anything behind. We are always the first to leave and the last to leave.

Sometimes when I eat lunch with them, I meet people who don’t know me and ask, “Where does this master come from?” Liu Tai replies with a smile: He is a “non-staff” employee of our radio station!

I remember that in 2004, the radio station organized the first Huangshi College Student Campus Song Contest in Lake Division. It was a Sunday afternoon. My wife, who was resting at home with herpes zoster, was really worried about the arrangement of the scene, so she asked me to drive there. In the evening, when the host Wang Shi appeared on the stage and repeatedly said to the college students: "I am Wang Shi! Not Huang Shi!", many fans in the audience waved their fluorescent strips and shouted "Wang Shi! Wang Shi!" . In 2006, the radio station held an event for Huangshi primary and secondary school students to sing traditional Chinese classics at Tuanchengshan People's Square. The students also liked the newly debuted hosts Li Yu, Xiao Wei, and Xiao Cha very much.

Maybe it’s because I participated in many activities. Director Cheng, Secretary Yang and other bureau leaders and I quickly became familiar with each other, and they gave us a lot of help both in work and life.

In 2009, Huangshi People's Broadcasting Station and CCTV Opera Channel held the Peking Opera Gala "Sixty Years of Beijing Rhythm" at the Huangshi Grand Theater. Shang Changrong, Li Bingshu, Meng Guanglu, Zhu Shihui, Shi Yihong, Guan Dongtian, Wang Peiyu and many other famous Peking opera actors gathered in Huangshi for two consecutive performances. This is also the highest-grade Peking Opera feast since the establishment of Huangshi city. Huangshi opera fans, listen up It's so addicting that it's so satisfying.

On the last day of the live singing by Meng Guanglu, Guan Dongtian and others, the backstage monitoring thought that it was not recorded, so it was re-recorded after the audience left. The actors and three hosts cooperated (our Liang Jing from Huangshi TV Station, and CCTV Dong Yi and Zhao Baole, who are no less co-hosts on the same stage, have to do it over and over again until they are satisfied, which shows how rigorously these famous actors and actresses treat their work. It was already 12 o'clock in the evening after the recording, and I drove CCTV host Zhao Baole back to Cihu Villa. After getting on the bus, he greeted me: "Thank you for your hard work, Master". Thinking that he was a famous cross talk actor, I deliberately joked: "It's not hard to serve the leader." Sheng Hui, who was sitting in the back row, said: "He is Mr. Bai, our Secretary Hu's lover." A joke brought us closer, and we got to know him better as we talked. Zhao Baole was born in Qingdao in 1958. He recorded and performed crosstalk on stage when he was in middle school. After arriving in Beijing, he collaborated with crosstalk masters such as Feng Gong and Shi Shengjie, and later served as a host on CCTV opera and other channels.

Since its launch in 2007 by the radio station, the annual Huangshi New Year Concert held at Cihu Theater has continued to this day. While delivering the wonderful symphony to people, the New Year's Concert also enhanced Huangshi's image, improved the quality of citizens, and expanded the station's social influence. In the first few years, I was a natural "staff member" at every conference, and I was even handed a sign and hung it on my chest in a decent manner. I not only served the site, but also used people who were familiar with the secondary units of Daye Nonferrous Metals. Relationships help sell tickets to shows.

Looking back on the years when my wife worked at the radio station, she witnessed the radio station coming out of the trough and gradually regaining its former energy. Although it was a bit harder, it was very fulfilling. She did the work she should do. In comparison, I thought she got more, especially when she was hospitalized for surgery in 2006. It was precisely because of the care of her leaders and colleagues that she quickly recovered and returned to work. In 2007, the party committee of Fang Bureau also recommended her to participate in the 11th Party Congress of Huangshi City as a female party member representative of the Radio, Film and Television Bureau.

After my wife retired in 2010, I, as a "non-staff" employee, took the initiative to "resign", but my relationship with the radio station was still unresolved. Sometimes I was invited to participate in activities organized by their retirement office. In 2014, I also invited some retirees from the radio station to stay for two nights at the villa where Liu Renba spent his childhood. When we were living in Beijing the year before last, station director Liu Qiong, Zhang Lijun and reporter Chen Lan took advantage of the opportunity of a business trip to Beijing to pay a special visit to us.

Because I participated in many activities, I, a "non-staff" employee, gained some understanding of radio work from ignorance, became an enthusiastic listener, and also made some new friends at the radio station, including family members. For example, Liu Qiong, Sun Liang, Sheng Hui, Hu Bo, Xiang Tianxiao, Guangming, Lao Liu, Jiang Ping, You Ming, Wu Jun, etc.......

I had never written an article after retiring. Unexpectedly, I became obsessed with calligraphy and writing. What I didn’t expect was that the friends I made in the journalism field gave me a lot of inspiration. Encouragement and support. The poet Xiang Tianxiao published more than 20 articles in my series "The Past Is Hard as Smoke" on the WeChat public account "New Things" he edited. Not only that, Hu Bo, the editor-in-chief of "Huangshi Audiovisual" also specially sent a WeChat invitation to me. He and his wife participated in the call for submissions for the 60th anniversary of Huangguang Radio Station. My wife had written two articles on the 45th and 50th anniversaries of the founding of the radio station, "My Five Years as a Broadcaster" and "Random Thoughts on the Sixth Floor." This time she said: "You also know the situation of our radio station relatively well. , Liu Tai always said that you are a non-staff member of our station, and now that you like writing, you can do it for me!" Last year, my wife once said in front of Zhang Shi, former director of the Propaganda Department of the Municipal Party Committee and Fan Guoqiang, Chairman of the Municipal Prose Society, that I accidentally got into the circle of Huangshi literati. I think this is fate!

Twenty years have just passed by. Today’s Huangshi People’s Broadcasting Station is no longer what it used to be. The Radio and Television Building, one of the landmark buildings of Huangshi City, stands on the side of Tuanchengshan Square. It has good office conditions and advanced With the advanced broadcasting equipment, generations of young people have become mature... As a half "radio person" who is a family member of a radio station employee, I feel equally proud and proud! Because my wife and I have experienced and witnessed its hardships and growth together! There are both the annoyance of setbacks and the joy of success. As I write this, I can’t help but think of Su Rui’s "Holding Hands":

Because I love your love

Because I dream of your dream

So I am sad with your sadness

Happy with your happiness!

Yes! My wife often says: "I have been working in three units for 30 to 40 years. I always feel that I am the happiest during the more than ten years at the radio station. I feel that I am really working hard on the ground, especially I have received too much friendship and care." ! I am really lucky to be able to integrate into such a big family as Huangshi Radio and Television and become a part of it.” Just say this to my wife, I, as a "non-staff" employee, deserve my due!

On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of Huangshi People’s Broadcasting Station:

I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to the leaders and colleagues of Huangshi Radio and Television who have cared for and helped us!

I wish all Huangshi Broadcasting and Television people happiness, health and good fortune!

Happy birthday to Huangshi People’s Broadcasting Station Jiazi!
