A dou joke
The proverb "A Dou who can't help" and "A dog can't help the wall" have similar meanings. Here, "A Dou" is the nickname of Liu Chan, the queen of the Tang Dynasty. Liu Chan (AD 207~27 1), male heir, was emperor for 4 1 year. In 223 AD, Liu Bei died of illness, and Liu Chan succeeded to the throne as the new emperor. During his reign, he did nothing, while Zhuge Liang was in charge of the politics of Shu Han. Although Zhuge Liang taught him many times, he still made no progress. In 263 AD, Wargo surrounded Chengdu, and Liu Chan opened the door to surrender. Si Mazhao named him a musician and made a joke of "being happy without thinking about grapes". Based on Liu Chan's deeds, later generations summed up the phrase "A Dou who can't afford to help" to describe those who don't make progress no matter how much they help.
