He didn't abide by the rules set by his ancestors, and he expected other vassal states to abide by them. Therefore, Zhou Tianzi himself took the lead in destroying the patriarchal clan system and could not blame others for imitating him, not to mention what blood relationship he talked about hundreds of years later. The whole Spring and Autumn Period is an era of ritual collapse and bad music, with ministers killing kings, sons killing fathers and brothers cannibalizing each other one after another. Who cares about the only blood relationship with the Zhou Emperor?

The emergence of Niu Geng, the iron plow, improved the level of productivity. The original well field system was destroyed, new land was reclaimed, and wealth and population increased. The fundamental reason was that the material strength of the vassal state exceeded the strength of the Zhou royal family.

On the other hand, at that time, the autocratic system was a more advanced system, and various vassal states were reforming and strengthening the kingship. The hierarchical system under the enfeoffment system could no longer meet the political needs of the emerging landlord class, while the Zhou Emperor at the top of the enfeoffment system was naturally unpopular with the princes, and no vassal was willing to invite a son of heaven to restrain himself, even if he had the same surname.

Therefore, the Zhou Emperor in the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period was basically a decoration. On the one hand, he didn't have time to manage the vassal states, and even if he did, I'm afraid he didn't have the ability!
