Why do people eat dog meat?

Let's not discuss the right or wrong of this proposition, let's discuss how this proposition came about. Western society has long been a nomadic and hunting society. For nomadism and hunting, the importance of dogs is beyond doubt, thus forming a "dog is the most loyal friend of mankind".

Eastern countries (especially China) entered the agricultural society thousands of years ago, and the status of hunting dogs did not decline, becoming one of the six livestock.
