To what extent do the Japanese not give people trouble?
Speaking of Japanese people's unwillingness to bother others, I'd better say two little things I observed during my life in Japan. When we first went to Japan, we once invited a Japanese couple to dinner. In order to thank them for their help, we specially chose a high-end western restaurant (high-end restaurants in Japan are usually western restaurants) with a very elegant environment. When I arrived at the appointed restaurant, my friend's husband arrived first, his face was full of apologies, saying that Nami would send the children to the children's grandmother's house first and would come soon. We were surprised that his daughter was only three years old. It is your family of three who are invited. Why did you send the child away? How nice it is to get together. My friend's husband explained that the children in this quiet restaurant are too young to cry, and coming here will affect everyone's dining atmosphere. At that time, I thought today was really melodramatic. Children can be seen in any restaurant in China. I have never heard of such a problem, and I have never heard that other guests will care about children. After staying in Japan for a period of time, I paid more attention to observation, and I really found that the noisier restaurants in Japan, the more children there are, while those restaurants that are quiet and have a stronger atmosphere have never seen children appear. The second thing is that the most common mode of travel in Japan is tram, which is equivalent to our subway. At first, I found that Japanese people put their briefcases or handbags on the ground or on their legs. I thought it was because there were too many people and there were no seats to put them. But slowly, I found that no matter how many people are in the car or how many empty seats are around, most Japanese still put their purses on the ground and put them on their legs. Later, I learned that it was the Japanese who thought that their purses might be put in various places, so they would be dirty, and they would worry that their purses would dirty their seats and affect others. There are many such little things in life, which will become normal over time. Although this habit of not causing trouble to others makes you feel good as a newcomer, in fact, after a long time, you will feel really tired because you have to adapt yourself to this culture. Everyone doesn't want to cause trouble to others, leaving the trouble to themselves. In the end, everyone has a lot of troubles, which may be one of the reasons why many Japanese feel depressed.
