Yesterday I watched "Hello! Mr. Tree" starring Wang Baoqiang.

The story takes place in contemporary northern China, a rural area in a semi-developed state on the edge of the city.

Shu is a slovenly and idle little man. After experiencing a lot of torture from reality, he stays in his fantasy world all day long. He is honored to be artistically put on the stage as a representative figure.

Some people say they can’t understand it, and the plot is a bit confusing and incomprehensible; some people say it’s high-end, uses magicism, has profound implications and is thought-provoking.

People who don’t understand may have never lived in rural areas or small towns. Or, if you have ever experienced frustration, or are currently experiencing frustration, you may have a sense of deja vu when watching this film.

On a certain road, or at the end of a certain alley, I met such a fool. They wandered around, being teased and laughed at. People like fools, handing him cigarettes, inviting him to drink, deliberately putting high hats on him, essentially making fun of him, and he laughs happily.

This movie is classified as a comedy, but I couldn't laugh at all.

The pain hidden in the bones seeped in little by little during the laughter, like a drop of water, gradually forming a suffocating pond.

What I saw was just a humble little person feeling numb, powerless, and aggrieved in the face of his environment.

But who has thought about how much pain the fool who always looks happy feels in his heart? How much desire?

No. Even their blood relatives despise them.

The director used black humor to piece together such a humble little person for us.

This seemingly silly, dull, and stupid little person seems so insignificant to outsiders, so he is bullied, ridiculed, and despised.

But he is obviously so different. He is kind, sensitive, happy, and even romantic.

What supports him are dreams.

Trees are like the image given in movies - trees with fallen leaves. They have no status in the village and even no stable source of livelihood. Everyone, even children, can mock.

The only friend, Xiaozhuang, was a worker who could only mine in substandard mines under the poverty line. Unfortunately, he later died in a mining accident.

His own land was usurped by Erzhu, the village chief’s brother-in-law. At the wedding of a distinguished guest, Shu took advantage of the wine to go to Erzhu to ask for an explanation, but Erzhu asked him to kneel down in front of everyone.

That moment of kneeling, the tree’s little dignity completely collapsed.

He is like an ant, looking for a small coordinate in the cracks of his embarrassing life, eager to change.

In fact, the tree knows everything clearly in its heart. It laughs and laughs in front of others, but looks sad like a dog behind others.

He knew that Erzhu's gang didn't really regard him as a "brother". They handed him cigarettes and invited him to drink. On the surface, they seemed to be very enthusiastic about him, but in fact no one took him seriously. .

When Gao Pengsheng forced him to drink, he resisted and said: "Why drink? We are not of the same generation." But when Xiaozhuang asked him to drink together, he said nothing and just followed Went.

He was too lonely and longed for warmth. Even though he knew that those people were hypocritical and even treated him as a joke, he still tried hard to join in the group.

The drunk Shu held on to Chen Yixin and refused to let go. He cried and muttered: "What's the point of living?"

Shu looked dazed, but he always knew in his heart that he had been ignored, but there was nothing he could do. There is no hope in life, but it still has to go on.

The appearance of the masseuse Xiaomei can be said to be a light that lights up again in the tree's life. She stirred up the sensitive and romantic side of Shu.

It can be seen from the two text messages he sent to Xiaomei.

Can you say that a fool can write these sentences?

Shu longs for love and warmth, and Xiaomei is the straw that saves him. Although he is deaf and mute, Shu still longs for it and can’t wait.

In Shu’s imagination, his brother had a Beatles hairstyle and toad sunglasses. Such fashionable and avant-garde clothes were incompatible with the 1980s. The recurring appearance of his brother also indicates that he longs to be as funny and optimistic as his brother.

If he hadn't witnessed his father accidentally strangled his brother to death, he would probably have lived a prosperous life like everyone else. But things are so unpredictable, and he lost the most important person in his life.

He longed for encouragement, family affection, and support, but none of these desires could come true.

In the film, Shu’s father appears for no more than three minutes in total, but every time he appears in his imagination, he has a calm and powerful expression, and every time he reveals a sense of Chilling fear.

His father's coldness has always suppressed Brother Shu's appearance. The more he suppresses it, the more Shu longs for him.

The entire film is 93 minutes long, and the first 49 minutes unabashedly describe the importance of dreams to trees. Even though he was despised and bullied, he still used his desire to survive.

Until the day before Shu’s wedding, Shu repeatedly told his brother to borrow a decent wedding car. Because this time he finally mustered up the courage to start life again.

In the end, Shu’s brother failed to borrow the crown car. He and his brother struggled with each other, and the anger, unwillingness, and despair in his heart were also thrown out with his fists.

At this point, the last straw in the heart of the tree was completely crushed.

He is crazy.

From then on, he only had dreams.

The brother he had always missed but could not see his face finally appeared in his imagination. My brother took his girlfriend to dance at his wedding, and the village chief asked Erzhu to lend her the Crown Car. The wedding was perfect.

Everyone respects him. The village chief and Erzhu humbly gave him money. Erzhu even knelt down for him, and Ruiyang Mining invited him to cut the ribbon.

Everything that cannot be realized in reality can be realized in dreams.

At the end of the film, Xiaomei can speak, holding her baby and walking hand in hand with him towards a new life.

Those who looked at him only saw Shu groping alone on the road. It can be seen that those beautiful things were all imagined by him.

He is living in his dream.

Shu lost the most important person in his family when he was a child. He has been growing up with longing. That longing is so strong and deep-rooted that it burns like a fire.

Water can carry a boat, water can overturn it, and it can also overturn it. Because his kindness and sensitivity seem so abrupt when faced with all kinds of injustices and insults. He felt hopeless, painful, and struggling desperately, but there was nothing he could do.

So he placed all his hopes in his dreams. Only in dreams can he get some justice.

Think about it now, do we still have dreams? Maybe there have been some before, some of them have long been buried in the trivialities of life.

Day after day, year after year, I don’t know when I lost it.

Many people say that I am very busy and have no time to care about my dreams.

Master Xing once said, what is the difference between a person without dreams and a salted fish?

We all know that dreams are very important. Only with dreams can we have the motivation to live. But sometimes dreams are beautiful but difficult to realize.

Trees have dreams, but they are unfortunate. All the relatives around him left one by one, and his only friend died in the mining accident. He was completely abandoned.

Many people may not be as miserable as Shu, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t people like Shu. There may be many more.

Shu suffered various injustices and lived in poverty, but these are not the most important parts.

The tree has forgotten that the most important thing is "I", which is the root of everything. When he encounters difficulties, he habitually turns to others for help, either to his younger brother, to his classmates, or to his long-dead brother. When he encounters setbacks, he only drinks and silently chants "Who will save me?"

He never thought about "saving himself".

The movie uses so much space to talk about how absurd and ridiculous his dream is, and it also illustrates the speculative psychology in his heart that attempts to change the status quo through dreaming.

When we have been polished by life and lose our sharpness, we only want to live the life we ??want. We have no goals, but we are confused in reality. In the end, we end up living in the way we hate the most. If we lose life, we will also lose. Lose yourself.

The tree lost its life and itself. It was lost in the imaginary world, thinking that that was happiness.

Empty dreams and no action will only be a dream in the end.

The tree is not a role model, but a warning.

Put it in the moment.

Sometimes kindness will be looked down upon and trampled on, but this is no reason to compromise. Others can be evil, but I can continue to do the right thing. Sometimes life is unsatisfactory, full of difficulties, and no one can rely on it, but this does not mean that you have to escape. The only one who can save yourself is "I".

Escape can't solve any problems, it is your own efforts that can change the world.
