Snoring English

Snoring is a common sleep phenomenon. During sleep, when the upper respiratory airflow passes through, it impacts the secretions on the edge of pharyngeal mucosa and the surface of mucosa, causing vibration and snoring. Its location starts from nasopharynx and includes soft palate, uvula, tonsil and its palatopharyngeal arch, palatoglossal arch, tongue root, pharyngeal muscle and pharyngeal mucosa.

Snoring can make sleep breathing pause repeatedly, cause cerebral blood hypoxia and induce various cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases.

Common diseases: allergic rhinitis, nasal polyps, tonsil adenoid hypertrophy, soft palate sagging, uvula too long and too thick, tongue hypertrophy, tongue base retraction, mandibular retraction, temporomandibular joint dysfunction and mandibular deformity, obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome, etc.
