Fierce custom: I heard that Jin Fan wanted to borrow money to take the provincial entrance examination, so he insulted Jin Fan and said, "Don't waste time", with a fierce tone; He also told Jin Fan to "stop peeing" and take care of himself, calling him "like a swan". When he mentioned Jin Fan's mother, he called her "the immortal old mother". The language is vulgar.

3. Bitterness: He complained of his bad luck and married his daughter to Jin Fan, a "worldly treasure" and a "poor ghost";

He slandered Jin Fan's literary talent and thought that he could become a scholar because the examiner sympathized with him and gave him alms.

Jin Fan's appearance is "pointed-billed monkey face" and his tone is bitter.

4. Arrogance: He thinks Jin Fan is a scholar, because he has accumulated virtue and "brought" Jin Fan; He put on the airs of his elders and tried to teach Jin Fan the truth of being a man so as not to "make people laugh"; After Jin Fan was promoted, he prided himself on his vision and "knew people"

5. Superstition and ignorance: He thinks that everything China said is a "literary star". He said that if you hit the stars in the sky, you will go to eighteen levels of hell; Others ridiculed him, saying that if he cured his son-in-law, he could be taken to the seventeenth floor of hell, and that he could not even kill a pig when he hit a juren with his hand. He is also complacent and believes it.

6. Rude: Jin Fan is a scholar. Hu swaggered into his house to congratulate him, but he nagged and scolded him, and then he was "drunk and full of food" and "naked and hungry" and behaved rudely.

7. Ridiculous and provocative: Jin Fan borrowed his plate fee, and he "spit in his face" and called him "dog blood drenched his head"; Jin Fan went crazy after the middle lift. He stunned Jin Fan with "one mouth". Although he was eager to save people, he still showed his usual arrogant nature.

8. Tending to be attached to the situation: Jin Fan is a scholar. He only took a pair of large intestines and a bottle of wine to "congratulate" and got himself drunk. However, after Jin Fan was promoted, he prepared seven or eight kilograms of meat and four or five thousand yuan to congratulate him. When Jin Fan woke up and came home, he bowed his head and pulled the back of his wrinkled clothes for Jin Fan dozens of times, once again showing his snobbery.

9. Unfortunately, the butcher Hu knew that he was crazy and showed a surprised expression after his success. He lamented that Jin Fan was not blessed, which showed that he only cared about fame and fortune. He was told to wake Jin Fan up, but he didn't want to, saying that he didn't dare to hit the stars in the sky, which reflected his superstition. In this paper, exaggeration and contrast are used to describe butcher Hu:

These descriptions, with irony and exaggeration, can be described as poor and ignorant, exposing butcher Hu's superstitious and ignorant character.

2) Butcher Hu has a completely different attitude towards. By contrast, the author reveals that the philistines in Hu's works are shameless and go with the flow.

(2) Xiangshen Zhang has long been elected magistrate, and he is a local tyrant. On the day of Jin Fan's promotion, he came to woo him, sent money home, and became brothers with Jin Fan. This shows that he is eager to make friends with the new rich and clings to his masters Zhou Xuedao and Tang Zhifu in order to consolidate and expand his power, and he is hypocritical and cunning.
