Who is usually the witness of a marriage?

The witness will generally be someone whom both parties trust, respect or have high moral standing.

Generally, we will look for senior elders in the family, or friends of parents, leaders of work units, etc.

The procedure for a witness to witness a marriage is to first read out the marriage certificate (marriage certificate), and after reading it, state "I hereby witness the marriage" and finally give a brief congratulations.
