The Eight Immortals are the eight immortals in ancient Chinese mythology. They are Han Zhongli, Zhang Guolao, Tieguaili, Han Xiangzi, Cao Guojiu, Lu Dongbin, Lan Caihe, and He Xiangu. Each of these eight gods has their own Taoist skills and boundless magic power. "The Eight Immortals crossed the sea, each showing his magical powers" is a well-known story about them.

One day, the Eight Immortals were riding on clouds to attend the Fair of Immortals and passed by the East China Sea. Lu Dongbin said: "Riding clouds and crossing the sea is not an immortal skill. How about we use our own special skills to cross the waves and show our magical powers. Do you think it is good?" All the immortals said: "Okay!"

Tieguai Li was the first to cross the sea. I saw him throwing the crutch in his hand into the East China Sea. The crutch floated on the water like a small boat, carrying Tieguai Li to the other side safely.

At this time, Han Zhongli clapped the drum in his hand and said, "Look at me." Then he also threw the drum into the sea. He sat cross-legged on the drum and sailed through it steadily. to the East China Sea.

Zhang Guolao smiled and said, "My tricks are still the best." He took out a piece of paper and folded it into a donkey. After the paper donkey landed on the ground, it looked up to the sky with a cry. With a long cry, he carried Zhang Guolao on his back and rode away on the waves. Zhang Guolao rode upside down on the back of a donkey, waved to the immortals, and soon reached the other side.

Then, Lu Dongbin, Han Xiangzi, He Xiangu, and Cao Guojiu also used the things they brought with them as ferries, and crossed the East China Sea smoothly one by one.

The seven immortals arrived on the other side and waited to see Lan Caihe.

It turns out that when the Eight Immortals crossed the sea just now, they alerted the crown prince of the Dragon King of the East China Sea. He sent shrimp soldiers and crab generals to capture Lan Caihe and also snatched his flower basket.

Lu Dongbin couldn't find Lan Caihe, and he was anxious and annoyed. He shouted loudly to the East China Sea: "Dragon King, listen, hand over Lan Caihe quickly, or else, be careful of my power!"

The prince was furious after hearing this and rushed out of the sea to curse Lu Dongbin. Lu Dongbin drew out his sword and struck, causing the prince to dive into the bottom of the sea.

Lu Dongbin was not willing to let him go, so he pulled out the fire gourd from his waist and burned the East China Sea into a sea of ??fire.

The Dragon King was so frightened that he asked what had happened. The prince had no choice but to tell the truth of the matter honestly. The Dragon King immediately ordered Lan Caihe to be released.

The eight immortals bid farewell to the East China Sea and went to the Fair of Immortals at ease.

The origin of "Cier Mountain"

In the western suburbs of Zhangjiakou, the ancient city outside the Great Wall, there is a mountain with an altitude of 1005 meters. This mountain has a very strange name called "Ci'er Mountain". There is also a legendary story about the origin of this name.

It is said that more than 500 years ago, there was a couple who were very anxious after being unable to have children for many years. On the eighth day of April this year, the couple came to the foot of this mountain in the western suburbs of Zhangjiakou, burned Zhu, and prayed for help from heaven and earth. Just as they were telling their desire for a child over and over again, an old man with white hair suddenly walked out from the cracks in the rocks on the mountainside. The old man came to them without saying a word, took out a clay doll from his arms, gave it to them, and then disappeared without a trace. The next year, the couple welcomed their son. They were really indescribably happy. This incident spread quickly, and people from mountain villages outside the Great Wall, hundreds of miles away, came to pray for children on the eighth day of April every year at the foot of the Western Mountain to burn incense and pray for children. Therefore, people called Xishan "Ci'er Mountain".

Now, there is an ancient temple built more than 580 years ago - Yunquan Temple - halfway up the mountain. There is a Buddhist niche in the temple, and a fascinating colorful picture is painted on the circular door. In the center of the picture It is a smiling, pot-bellied Buddha. The Buddha statue is surrounded by smoke and mist, and the clouds are filled with white and fat children. According to legend, this is where the old man with flowing white hair lived, known as the "immortal who gave children".

The key to the Huangguoshu Treasury

The Huangguoshu Waterfall, located on the Baishui River in Zhenning Buyi and Miao Autonomous County, Guizhou Province, is the largest waterfall in China and one of the world's famous waterfalls. The turbulent water suddenly fell from the cliff more than 60 meters into the deep pool, making a thunderous roar and splashing waves. During the day, the sun shines on the waterfall, reflecting rainbows and phantoms. At night, the moon shines on the deep pool under the waterfall with a cold light.

This waterfall originally had no name. Legend has it that an old and poor couple once lived on the other side of the waterfall. They make a living by growing yellow fruit trees.

This year, the flowers of one hundred yellow fruit trees planted by the old man have withered for more than ten days, but there are still no fruits. The old man is too anxious to eat. One afternoon, the old man was sitting at home. His wife suddenly shouted in surprise outside the door: "Come and see, Huang Guo!" The old man jumped up from the bed and ran out, only to see a tree growing A huge yellow fruit.

"Hey, it's strange, how come it has only been more than ten days after the flowers faded, and it has grown bigger than the ripe one?" The old man felt a little strange.

Then the two of them looked for it tree by tree. I searched a hundred trees and couldn't find another yellow fruit.

A few days later, a rare guest came and asked: "Old man, do you want to sell your yellow fruits?"

"In the past years, there were many yellow fruits. What do you want?" There are plenty of them, but this year has been bad and only one fruit has been produced.”

“I want to buy this,” the guest said, “How about 200 taels of silver?”

The old man said: "This is for sowing, we can't sell it."

"It's 1,000 or two lines." The guest said and stuffed the money into the old man's hand. The old man was a little confused, but his wife thought it was worth it. They had never seen so much silver in their lives. "Sell it, I'll pick it up."

The guest quickly stopped: " Don’t be busy, I’ll pick it up in another 100 days. During these 100 days, you must keep an eye on the yellow fruit, and no one is allowed to touch it, and no birds or animals are allowed to eat it.”

From now on, Lao. The couple took turns guarding the yellow fruit tree every day. The heavy money made them forget their fatigue. The 100 difficult days finally passed, and the guests arrived as scheduled.

The old man couldn't help but ask: "What is the use of this yellow fruit?"

The guest held the big and fragrant yellow fruit and pointed to the waterfall opposite and said: "Waterfall The deep pool below is a cornucopia with many jewels in it, but you can't take them out. This yellow fruit is the key to the deep pool." After saying this, he picked up the yellow fruit and walked to the edge of the pool, throwing it towards the center of the pool, and a miracle happened. Suddenly, the waterfall stopped flowing, and the bottom of the pool was full of sparkling pearls and gems. The guest excitedly slid down the rope ladder to the bottom of the pool, quickly picked up yellow fruits and a box of jewelry and hurriedly climbed up. Just halfway up the climb, there was a loud noise like the earth was falling apart, and the waterfall above rushed down fiercely. The guest, the yellow fruit, and the jewelry disappeared in the blink of an eye.

The old couple witnessed all this and were so shocked that they were speechless. After a while, the old man took out the silver that was still warm from his arms, threw it into the deep pool without hesitation, and said to his wife: "This is not what we farmers deserve, and there is no use keeping it."

From now on, this waterfall was called Huangguoshu Waterfall. Although people know that the deep pool under the waterfall is still filled with gold and silver treasures, they can no longer find the key to it.

The story of "Euzhong"

In ancient times, there was a firewood collector whose surname was Duzhong. He goes up the mountain to collect firewood every day to support his elderly mother.

Once, he suffered from back pain, which was so severe.

One summer day, when Eucommia ulmoides was collecting firewood in the mountains, his waist hurt again. He had to stop and rest against a big tree. It was very comfortable under the shade of the tree. With his bare back, he slowly fell asleep leaning against the big tree.

When he woke up, his waist felt extremely comfortable, so relaxed. From then on, Eucommia ulmoides rubbed her waist against the bark of the tree every day. Slowly, Eucommia ulmoides' waist problems were all cured.

One day, Du Zhong’s old mother also suffered from back pain and lay in bed unable to get up. Eucommia was busy taking care of her mother, but her mother's illness was not getting better. He suddenly remembered the big tree on the mountain, and quickly ran to the mountain and peeled off some bark. Eucommia ulmoides tied the bark around the old mother's waist. Ha, it’s so amazing. The old mother is gradually able to sit up.

Later, people in the village heard about it and used this bark to treat diseases.

This kind of tree has no name, because it was discovered by Eucommia ulmoides, so people call it "Euzhong ulmoides". Later, "Ucommia" became a valuable Chinese herbal medicine in China, and the Eucommia tree was also protected by people.

Legends about the zodiac signs

In order to arrange zodiac signs for people, the Jade Emperor decided to hold a zodiac meeting in the sky. He sent notices of the meeting to various animals.

At that time, cats and mice were good friends. They lived together like brothers.

Both the cat and the mouse were notified of the meeting, and they decided to attend the meeting together.

Cats love to sleep, so the day before the meeting in heaven, they specially asked the mouse: "Brother Rat, when I go to the meeting tomorrow, if I fall asleep, can you wake me up?"

The mouse said: "You can sleep peacefully, I will wake you up."

The cat slept peacefully. The next morning, the mouse got up very early. Without waking the cat, he secretly went to heaven for a meeting.

Besides, Brother Long, who lives in Qingshuitan, also received notice of a meeting from heaven. The dragon is born very majestic. It thinks that if it chooses the zodiac this time, it will definitely be chosen.

But Brother Long has a flaw, that is, he lacks a pair of beautiful horns on his head. It decided to borrow a pair of horns to wear.

At that time, the rooster had a pair of big horns on its head. Brother Long said to the rooster: "Mr. rooster, I'm going to the zodiac tomorrow. Can you lend me your horns to wear?"

Gonggong rooster replied: "Brother Long, I'm sorry. I'm going to be honored tomorrow too!"

Brother Long said: "Your head is too small and it doesn't look good with such a big horn, so you might as well lend it to me."

At this time, a centipede crawled over and said: "Mr. Chicken, please lend your horns to Brother Long. If you are worried, I will be the guarantor."

The rooster thought for a while and said, She was pretty enough even without the horns, so she agreed to let Centipede be the guarantor and lent the horns to Brother Long.

The next day, there was a very lively zodiac gathering in the sky, and all kinds of animals came. The Jade Emperor selected twelve animals, including ox, horse, sheep, dog, pig, rabbit, tiger, dragon, snake, monkey, chicken, and mouse, as the human zodiac signs. Why did the Jade Emperor choose these twelve animals? We don't know any of this.

The Jade Emperor said: "The ox is the biggest, so let the ox be the first animal."

Everyone agreed. But the little mouse said loudly: "It should be said that I am bigger than a cow. Every time people see me, they say: 'Ah, this mouse is so big!' But I have never heard anyone say: 'This cow is so big!' In the eyes of people, I am bigger than an ox."

The Jade Emperor said: "Is this true?"

The mouse said: "If you don't believe it, you can try. Give it a try."

The Jade Emperor brought twelve kinds of animals to the human world.

It is exactly as the mouse said. When the cow passes in front of people, people all say: This cow is so fat and good. No one said the cow was really big. At this time, the cunning mouse suddenly climbed onto the back of the cow and stood up on its two feet. When people saw the mouse on the back of the cow, they immediately shouted: "Ah, this mouse is so big!"

The Jade Emperor heard the people's shouts and had to say: "Then let the mouse be the first." Zodiac sign. Ox, you have to be the second zodiac sign.”

The current zodiac signs are arranged like this: Rat is the first sign, Ox is the second sign, then: Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, snake, horse, sheep, monkey, rooster, dog, pig.

The Shangxiao meeting was over, and the mouse returned home happily. The cat just woke up, saw the mouse, and asked strangely: "Brother Mouse, what's the matter? Isn't the Xiaoxiao Conference held today?"

The mouse said: "You are still dreaming! The Xiaoxiao Conference has already begun. After that, twelve animals were chosen, and I was the first!"

The cat was surprised, and asked the mouse: "Then why didn't you ask me to come with you?"

The mouse said: "Forgot!"

The cat shouted angrily: "Little thing, didn't you promise to wake me up? Why don't you keep your word?"

The mouse refused to admit his mistake at all, and said: "Why did I have to wake you up? I am not your servant."

The cat was so angry that it yelled and bit it. Rat's neck. The mouse barked twice and then died.

From then on, the cat and the mouse became mortal enemies, and they remain so to this day.

Besides, the rooster came back from the zodiac meeting, feeling very unhappy. It thought: The Jade Emperor put the dragon in front of him, maybe because Brother Long wore the pair of horns on his head. It decided to get the pair of corners back.

The rooster walked to the clear water pool and saw Brother Long swimming happily. He said politely: "Brother Long, please give me your horns back!"

Dragon When my brother heard this, he was surprised and said: "Cock, what do you want the horns for? You are more beautiful without horns than with horns, but if I don't have this pair of horns..."

The rooster is very beautiful. He said unhappily: "Brother Long, if you borrow something from someone else, you should pay it back!"

Brother Long didn't know what to say, so he thought for a moment and said politely: "I'm sorry. Father Chicken, I'm going to rest. Let's talk about this later." After saying that, it swam under the water. The rooster was angry and hateful, and shouted loudly at the edge of the clear water pool: "Brother Long, give me back your horns! Brother Dragon, give me your horns..."

But Brother Long hid at the bottom of the pool and slept. Take care of it. The rooster had no choice but to find the centipede, the guarantor.

The rooster told Centipede everything about Brother Long's refusal to return his horns, and finally said: "Mr. Centipede, you are the guarantor, you can't ignore this matter."

The centipede thought for a long time and said slowly: "I think Brother Long will return the horn to you. If it really refuses to return it, I have nothing to do. It is hiding under the water. How can I find it? ?"

Cock's face flushed with anger and said, "You were willing to be the guarantor at that time, why don't you care now?"

Mr. Centipede said, "You can't say that. , you lent it your own money. I think if it doesn’t want to return it, just give it to it. It’s my fault that you didn’t think twice before lending it to someone else. ” p>

"I blame myself?" Rooster's eyes widened.

"Of course you have to blame yourself!" replied the centipede who didn't know whether to live or die.

The rooster blushed with anger. He stretched out his neck, pecked the centipede and ate it.

Since then, every summer, we often see roosters pecking centipedes in the yard. Every day at dawn, the rooster will think of his lost horn and always shout a few times: "Brother Long, give me back your horn..."

The "crane" of the Yellow Crane Tower flies to the "goose"

The Yellow Crane Tower, which is close to the Yangtze River and stands on the top of the Snake Mountain, has left many touching legends about the Yellow Crane to the world. In the end, the Yellow Cranes flew away, but the ones who stayed in the stele corridor under the Yellow Crane Tower But it is a large monument with the word "goose".

The word "goose" looks like a singing goose from a distance, but up close it turns out to be a single stroke of "goose". When coming to the Yellow Crane Tower, tourists must go out of their way to see the "goose". Who actually wrote this word? Wuchang people will definitely tell you that it is Wang Xizhi, the famous calligrapher of the Eastern Jin Dynasty. There is also a touching myth here.

The Jade Emperor built an archway at Tiangong Gate and wanted to engrave the words "Nantian Gate" on it. But whose words are worthy of this magnificent archway? After much deliberation, I felt that Wang Xizhi was not qualified for the job. But he knew that Wang Xizhi had the arrogance of a scholar, and it would be difficult to get his name with a high official and a generous salary. So he sent the Antarctic Immortal to find a way to get the characters. The Antarctic fairy learned that Wang Xizhi loved geese very much, so he borrowed a group of fairy geese from the Queen Mother and transformed himself into an old man herding geese, driving the geese down to the human world. On this day, Wang Xizhi was admiring the beautiful scenery on the bank of the Yangtze River. Suddenly he saw a group of majestic white geese. He was ecstatic and ran up to him. He bowed deeply to the old man who herded the geese and asked to sell him a few. The old man stroked his white beard and smiled and said: "These geese are not for sale. If you really like it, sir, I will give you ten." Wang Xizhi was very happy, thanked him quickly, and asked where the geese came from. The old man replied: "It's far away. He came from Nantianmen." Wang Xizhi thought for a while, but he couldn't figure out where "Nantianmen" was. He was afraid that he heard wrongly, so he used his finger to press the word "Nantianmen" on the old man's palm. He wrote "Nantianmen" word by word and asked if it was these three words. The old man looked at it and smiled: "Exactly!" After saying that, he left.

At this time, Wang Xizhi suddenly found that the old man's geese had turned into a goose, and the old man was riding on it, rising slowly until it reached the blue sky. I saw a towering archway deep in the white clouds, with three big characters "Nantianmen" on it. It was written by myself, and I suddenly realized.

Then he raised the ten geese given by the immortal in the pond, observed the geese's expressions every day, and then practiced writing the word "goose". After a while, he was able to write the word "goose" in one stroke. It is said that this is the tablet with the word "goose" in the stele corridor under the Yellow Crane Tower.

The Legend of the Huangpu River

The surging Huangpu River is not only a symbol of Shanghai’s splendid culture, but also a witness to Shanghai’s history. Many historical and cultural celebrities throughout the ages have left glorious footprints on Huangpu Beach.

The Huangpu River is one of the earliest artificially dug and dredged rivers in history. It originates from Dianshan Lake in Qingpu County and flows into the Yangtze River at Wusongkou. It is 114 kilometers long and about 400 meters wide. The Huangpu River runs through the Baili Port District of Shanghai. Although there are no famous mountains and ridges to see, they have their own unique charm.

During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, the "Autumn Waves of Huangpu" was one of the eight scenic spots in Shanghai. On the eighteenth day of the eighth lunar month, you can see the scene of "silver waves standing on the wall like a mountain falling" in Lujiazui. In recent years, a cross-river tunnel has been built in the middle reaches of the Huangpu River, and a Huangpu Bridge has been built between Chedun and Yexie in Songjiang County on the upper reaches.

There is a touching legend about the excavation of the Huangpu River: A long time ago, Shanghai was a desolate swamp with a shallow river winding in the center. If there is too much rain, there will be flooding; if there is little rain, the river will turn upside down. People suffered so much from it that they cursed it as the "Broken Head River". During the Warring States Period, Chu Ling Yin Huangxie came to the bank of the "Duotou River", worked tirelessly to understand its ins and outs, and led the people to dredge and manage it so that it could flow north directly into the mouth of the Yangtze River and flow into the East China Sea. From then on, people on both sides of the river lived and worked in peace and contentment without fear of drought or flood. People were grateful for Huang Xie's kindness, so they called this river Huangxie River, or Huangpu for short. Later, Huang Xie was named Chunshenjun and was also named Chunshen River.

Huang Xie, Lord of Chunshen, was one of the four famous gentlemen during the Warring States Period. He had three thousand diners and a bustling house.

According to the records of "Shanghai County Governance" written by Tongzhi of the Qing Dynasty, Xia Yuanji, the Minister of Household Affairs in the Central Household Department of Yongle in the Ming Dynasty, dredged the Dahuangpu River, merged with the Wusong River, connected from Fanjiabang to Wusongkou and entered the sea, forming today's Huangpu River.

Tiger-head shoes

In China, when many families give birth to boys, they always like to make a pair of tiger-head shoes to wear on their children’s feet. Do you know why?

It is said that a long time ago, there was a man named Yang who lived on a broken boat. People called him Yang Da.

Yang Da is a kind-hearted person. He will give money to people crossing the river, but he won’t take it if they don’t have money.

One day, when it was windy and rainy, Yang Dazheng was sitting in the small ferry house rubbing the rope when he suddenly heard someone shouting that he wanted to cross the river. He ran out and saw that it was an old woman begging for food in the rain on the other side of the river. Yang Da hurriedly braved the rain to punt the old woman across the river. The old lady went ashore and said, "Oh, my cotton was lost on the other side of the river." Yang Da hurriedly said, "It doesn't matter, it doesn't matter. You go to my hut to take shelter from the rain first, and I'll get it for you." I went boating in the rain to retrieve the grandmother's cotton.

The old lady was very grateful to Yang Da. She said: "I don't have any money to give you. I only have this small painting. Please accept it." When Yang Da took a look, there was a girl painting on the painting. Embroider tiger head shoes for children. Yang Da thanked the old lady and posted the painting in the cabin.

Unexpectedly, after the boat was collected in the evening, the girl in the painting ran ashore and married Yang Da. Yang Da looked at this beautiful girl and was very happy. From then on, the girl came down from the painting every night and returned to the painting during the day.

A year later, the girl in the painting gave birth to a fat boy named Xiaobao. Yang Da was really happy. Seven years passed in a flash. This strange thing was known to the prefect, who wanted to occupy Yang Da's painting.

One day, the prefect came to the river to find Yang Da and snatched the painting away. Yang Dali held on to the prefect's clothes and legs and was severely beaten by the evil policemen. Yang Da had no choice but to hug his son Xiaobao and cry.

That night, the magistrate posted the painting in the room, but the girl had tears in her eyes and would not come down.

The prefect was so angry that he wanted to tear the painting off, but he couldn't bear it.

Xiaobao cried and wanted to find his mother. Yang Da told him that his mother was imprisoned in the deep house compound, and he could only save his mother when the old woman who brought her appeared.

While his father was not at home, Xiaobao put on the tiger-head shoes made by his mother and left home to find his grandmother.

Xiaobao ran for seventy-seven forty-nine days and came to a deep mountain and old forest. He couldn't walk any more, so he sat by the lake to rest. Suddenly, he saw seven fairies in the lake slowly walking ashore after taking a bath. Xiaobao could tell at a glance that the one walking at the back was his mother. He was so happy that he ran over and hugged his mother and cried. When her mother saw Xiaobao, she quickly inquired about the situation at home and told him that since the painting was taken away, she had left the mortal world. If she wanted her mother to go home, she would have to go to the prefect to reason. Mom wiped Xiaobao's tiger-head shoes with lake water again. Suddenly, a cloud of mist covered Xiaobao's eyes, and there was only a "swish" sound. Xiaobao opened his eyes and saw that he had landed at the door of his house. Xiaobao hurriedly told his father what he had seen. After that, he went straight to the government office, crying and wanting to see the prefect.

The prefect heard that the child shouting outside the door was the son of the beauty in the painting, and quickly asked someone to call him in. He wanted to use Xiaobao to deceive the girl in the painting. Xiaobao entered the room, saw the painting, and quickly reached for his mother's hand. The beauty immediately ran down from the painting and followed Xiaobao outside. The prefect was so anxious that he pounced on the beauty like a hungry wolf and trampled Xiaobao with his foot. At this moment, the tiger on Xiaobao's tiger-head shoes ran down, grabbed the magistrate in his mouth, and ran into the mountains. Xiaobao took her mother back home, and the family met happily.

Now you know why Chinese parents wear tiger-head shoes for little boys. That is to get good luck and ensure safety.

There was a scholar named Wan Xiliang in Suzhou. In order to escape the pursuit of the government, he had to hide everywhere. One day, he escaped to the Meng family garden and met Meng Jiangnu by chance. Meng Jiangnu was a smart and beautiful girl. She hid Wan Xiliang with her parents. The two old men liked Wan Xiliang very much, so they betrothed Meng Jiangnu to him as his wife.

Less than three days after their wedding, Wan Xiliang was arrested by the official to build the Great Wall. Meng Jiangnu cried like a tearful person and waited miserably for her husband to return. Half a year has passed and there is no news about Wan Xiliang. It was already late autumn, the north wind was blowing, the reed flowers were turning white, and the weather was getting colder day by day. Meng Jiangnu remembered that her husband was far away in the north building the Great Wall and it must be very cold, so she sewed cold clothes with her own hands and set out on the road to find Wan Xiliang on the Great Wall.

On the way, Meng Jiangnu experienced countless hardships and endured countless hardships before she reached the foot of the Great Wall.

Unexpectedly, the migrant workers building the Great Wall told her that Wan Xiliang was dead and his bones were filled into the city wall. After hearing this heartbreaking news, Meng Jiangnu felt that the sky was dark and the earth was dark, and she fainted and fell to the ground. When she woke up, she began to cry sadly, and she cried until the sky was miserable and the earth was miserable, and the sun and the moon were dim. I don't know how long I cried, but suddenly I heard a loud noise that shook the earth. The Great Wall collapsed for dozens of miles, exposing countless bones. Meng Jiangnu bit her fingers and dripped blood on the bones. She prayed secretly in her heart: If it was her husband's bones, the blood would seep into the bones. If not, the blood would flow in all directions. Finally, Meng Jiangnu used this method to find Wan Xiliang's bones. She hugged the pile of bones and cried sadly again.

Qin Shihuang saw that Meng Jiangnu was very beautiful and wanted to force her to become a concubine. Meng Jiangnu pretended to agree to him, but asked Qin Shihuang to do three things first: ask the monks to read the forty-nine heavenly scriptures to Wan Xiliang, and then bury him properly; Qin Shihuang should personally lead the civil and military ministers to mourn Wan Xiliang; after burying Wan Xiliang, Meng Jiangnu wants to go sightseeing and get married in three days. Qin Shihuang had no choice but to agree to Meng Jiangnu's request. After the three things were done, Meng Jiangnu scolded Qin Shihuang, and then jumped into the rolling sea.

The Cowherd and the Weaver Girl

There is an Altair star and a Vega star in the sky. There is a beautiful and touching legend about these two stars. The Weaver Girl is the granddaughter of the Emperor of Heaven. She weaves cloud brocade in the sky every day. The Cowherd was a young boy who herded cows. He lost his parents very early. His brother and sister-in-law were very unkind to him. After the family separation, they only gave him an old cow.

The Cowherd and the Old Niu depended on each other and lived a very hard life. One day, Lao Niu suddenly spoke to him in a human voice. Lao Niu told him that tomorrow the Weaver Girl and the sisters in the sky would take a bath in the lake behind the mountain. If the Cowherd takes away the pink dress from the Weaver Girl, the Weaver Girl will become his wife.

The Cowherd did as the Old Niu said, and sure enough he saw the Weaver Girl. After they got married, the Cowherd plowed the fields and the Weaver Girl weaved, and their days became happier and happier. Soon, they gave birth to another son and a daughter, and the couple was very happy.

However, the Queen Mother finally found out about the Cowherd and the Weaver Girl. She was so angry that she personally took the God of Heaven to the Cowherd's house and captured the Weaver Girl and took her to heaven.

The children cried for their mother. The old cow said to the Cowherd again: "Cowherd, I'm going to die. You put my skin on your body, and you can go to heaven to chase the Weaver Girl." After saying this, the old cow died.

The Cowherd put on the cowhide, put the child in two baskets and carried it on his shoulders. Sure enough, he flew into the sky. The Cowherd was traveling among the stars like the wind, and was about to catch up with the Weaver Girl. Suddenly a big hand stretched out from the air, and the cruel Queen Mother drew a big river behind her with a hosta, blocking the Cowherd's pursuit. The Cowherd could not fly across it. This river is the Tianhe, also called the Milky Way.

The Cowherd looked at the surging river and vowed to see his wife no matter what.
